Try your local automotive paint store. In my Town, NAPA is the go to place.

YOu can order on-line to at PaintScratch Touch-Up Paint (rs), Spray Cans, Spray Paint, Paint Pens, Car Paint, Automotive Paint I've had very good luck with these guys on many occasions. They'll also have the paint codes you need. Just go to the 370 listing.

No...If you're referring to the "Self Healing" paint on the G37, the Z does NOT have this. Not here anyway. It may be different in the UK though.
(sorry....Missed your UK location earlier)

Let your bodyshop source the paint (that's what they do). That way, if there is a mismatch it's on them, not you.

It does hAve a special 'hard clearcoat' though. At least that's what the sticker inside my hood says

Trust your bodyshop (assuming they're good)....Mine's been repainted from the doors forward with standard color and clearcoat and is better than OEM....

Beautiful. Looks nicer than new.

Your Car

I don't know if its your driveway slanting downward but your car looks a little lower in the front which is what I like, most of the new Zs look just a tad higher in the front than rear. Are those brake cooling ducts, I'm considering some small DRLs or amber fog/driver lights. I may paint the fangs black later on.

Richie 02-16-2010 07:01 AM

can never get my questions answered lol

Stock height. 15mm spacers front and rear. The vents feed my custom airboxes..

Its not very hard, thats for sure.

fillyv 02-16-2010 10:19 AM

Bodyshops/Dealerships all mix thier own paint. It's really not a big deal. As long as you have a shop that is good, and thier tech's care. We mix every color, and variant made. It's not a problem.

Go to an Infiniti dealer. They should have some. Be aware, it would be a whole new clearcoat. I said this in a different thread, I have it on my black '09 FX35. It really doesn't work that well. I still see all the micro-scratches that I've seen on my black cars I've owned before. Could it be a little better? Sure. I just can't tell. The manual says to leave it in hot sun to work. I've done that on-purpose numerous times. Little scratches still there. Just my opinion. Again, try a few Infiniti dealers. I know you guys in the UK just got them.

Hope that helps.

Richie, I think a good detailing job should protect the car and keep it looking as good as the Scratch Shield. Again, it's my opinion, but I do have it. It just came with my Infiniti, but I don't think it's offered this year. That's what I've heard. If you'd ask me if it was worth it.. I'd say, "Not really." I could use that money for some good detailing that would take care of those little tiny scratches. That's what Scratch Shield is for. Not for deep scratches.

Richie 02-16-2010 02:45 PM

scratch sheild is nissans self healing lacquer isnt it? there are vids of it on youtube working, i just want to know where to get it to repair my badly scratched roof that needs painting

I'll make sure to get out in my driveway with my "boiling water machine" and spray down my car. :rofl2: Mine clearly doesn't even come close to that.

Richie 02-16-2010 05:39 PM
