And let your insurance in on it as well, I'm sure they'd love to get their hands on that one. |

hope it all works out for the better.................
when something like this happens, i just tell myself i am just grateful that i am not hurt or i have not injured anyone or property........... trust me i have had similar incident.... in one case, my neighbor came out and stood by to see if the guy would leave a number on the windshield.............otherwise, he would have drove off.............. i guess it is a good lesson for all of us.............try to be decent to each other........do not do to others what you would not have them done to you.............simple fact...... just postive thoughts.............which in return engender positive energy.... *^^* |

Sorry about your bumper 6spd, I've been on the receiving end of a hit and run as well. The responding officer found the guys car parked in a driveway in my neighborhood a few days later. Sweet justice.
Your Z will be back in shape before you know it. Try to not let it get you down.

florida is a no fault state, so either way mine will have to do it. i may not even go through the insurance, i may just do it myself to avoid the insurance increase and accident history... may prove useful later on.

Oh so true!!! What color is your Z? Metalics are a bit harder to mach the color. Solids are easier. I had a classic restoration body shop years back, so I'm familier. That's why I wish my Z was a solid black not with metalic. Solid black just "jumps" more too. Metalic Black seems to look like it's got a layer of fine dust on it IMO Dealer will probably just outsource it as they don't do paint jobs usually. Best to find a good shop on your own, check examples of their work before hand. Don't use a cheapo shop!!!! Overspray and compounding dust can get into all sorts of places, and will take a major detail job to clean. PITA I know it happened to me with my Porsche. Engine compartment got trashed with dust and crap! Still NEVER has looked the same. 2 stage enamels with the hardener additive allows them to be able to wet sand and buff like the old laquer paints. Then, dust, orange peel is not that much of an issue. Good luck, and sorry to hear of your mishap. Hope this helps. |

Good luck and I hope it's a quick and quality fix. I've seen some pictures of the PW with some horrible paint jobs, be adamant that it matches properly when all said and done, they are probably going to have to paint the hood and fender as well to match.

Just paint the bumper. I can't stress this enough. A quality paint shop WILL be able to match the color, it might take a couple of tries BUT... Don't paint the whole nose of the car, if it doesn't match, then you've got a much bigger problem and a car that's been half re-painted. Check it when finished in both flouresant and natural sunlight to be sure. I spent years restoring Jags, Rolls etc.. Take my word on this. Just don't accept the car if it's not perfect. Tell them this when you contract them. Certain paints can be dead on matches out of the can, Glasow (german) is one. |

That's one thing I hate about non-factory repaints, 99% of the time they are not perfect and these shops get away with it. Don't drive it off the lot until you've examined the job from head to toe (in different lighting conditions ideally). |
