Patience is a virtue.
If you can't wait go get the 350 lmao...
But I think people should wait and get the 370!
definately wait and save up for the 370z IMO. because your gonna put $10,000 into an older 350z, and it still wont look as good as a stock 370z. Then you'll feel like an @ss.

The economy has no bearing on cars like the 370Z because it isn't a car for the masses. True, it's an affordable enough car for many people but it isn't a car that Nissan relies on for volume sales. It's not a four door family sedan that is marketed to move units like the Altima, Accord, Camry, etc... Nissan will have no problem raising the price because they're not trying to sell 500,000 370Z's a year.

Nissan isn't a premium brand but the 370Z is one of the more expensive cars they sale. You can end up getting into Infiniti territory configuring an altima or maxima depending on what options you add on. I'm looking to get a 2009 370Z automatic with all the bells and whistles and I'm expecting to spend around $40,000 and probably more if I opt for extended warranty, or any service plans like oil changes, etc...

You know, I was thinking about this today and I think what you quoted me on is far more applicable to the Chevy Camaro than the 370Z. Totally out of left field until you understand how heavily GM is counting on the Zeta Camaro to sell. Nissan on the other hand isn't too concerned with selling 100k+ Z's a year. I have no idea what the sales targets are for the Z34 but I'm sure it's a modest number. Anyways, I digress; My point was to emphasize the need to keep the Z34 as attainable as possible despite the lofty aspirations on behalf of Nissan to see this car running neck and neck with some of Deutschlands' finest on a performance level. Looking at the facts I think Nissan has delivered both price and performance wise.

I understand what you're saying. I think that in todays world $40,000 for a fully loaded Nissan that has all the bells and whistles(navigation, etc...) and can compete performance wise with German cars that cost a lot more similarly configured is a great bargain. You're right about the new camaro, GM is losing money and needs all of it's cars to meet and exceed any sales projections they have.

I'm sorry guys, though I LOVE the 370z, I'm just not willing to spend $40k on it. I can't spend that much money on sumn that I wanna chuck around traffic and mod, thats probably gonna get scratched and banged up a lil bit.

lol, I don't know if any of these guys would want to mod then give up their 370z after only 1 & 1/2 years, I wouldnt. BUT there are a bunch of G37s on CARMAX now for well below what they initially costed, if thats any indication. Car Finder by Zip Code at carmax.com

I'm talking $40k for a fully loaded one, all the options (nav/sport) maybe some accessories like the lighted door sills, etc... I like getting my cars fully loaded because I don't really drive my cars that hard anymore (although I still like sporty cars) and I enjoy all of the technology going into cars nowadays (hard drive/back up cameras,etc...). The base model is just under $30k so if that's what you want you don't have to worry about spending anymore than that.

If any dealer still think that can do markups in this economy, they are completely out of their mind. Most car dealer are trying to keep open let alone sell cars. The crap that Chevy dealers pulled with the ZR1 with 70k markup, is some of the small reason that lead to them bagging for the bailout.

Sounds good. We'll see what happens, I'm likely going to buy one in Feb.
