Pretty sure it's working. I keep the keys in my pocket, hit the lock button on the door, and then check to make sure it's locked. It's always locked when I come back until I hit the button on the door again.

yes you can start the car and then lock it. The doors will be locked and no one can unlock them with out the key. However I hear glass brakes and people steal cars so.....just be careful.
