6 months? Seriously? Where do you live - Alaska? That, and enjoy rust in 4-6 years? No thanks.

4 seasons, 1 is winter = 3 months. I last drove my Z in December. March will be about when I bring it out, if not later this month. Just waiting for the rains to begin.

I thought about taking it out today, as most of the sand/salt has been swept off the roads by traffic, but...nah.

Winter tires are for temps below ~50F. When I was in Chicago, my winter tires were on the car from a bit before TurkeyDay to late April. Between 5 and 6 months.

Indeed, it won't warm up here until at least mid April. But I'll have my summer tires back on before then, have my first track day planned in early April.

I don't want to park my car during winter, so winter tires are "the way to roll". And the salt, well, just wash the car often and it shouldn't be a problem. Oh and to keep the front looking good with all the crap on the road I got a clear bra.
