Fairlady Z emblem
Sure hope I don't get slammed for this post, but I just DON'T understand the enthusiasm for the Fairlady Z emblem. I would definately want that replaced with the 370Z emblem if my car came with such. I'm so glad I have a US version. Just doesn't seem to fit the aggressive style/design of the 370Z. IMO
Maybe if I was a female driver and my car was painted pink it would be OK! Sorry if I offended anyone here, as I said, it's just my opinion |

Well it is mainly due to the fact that the car is a Fairlady Z, the name is changed because the American market is the way it is.

The name is iconic to this car, it's a huge part of this cars history, it's origin, it's heritage.
Fairlady Z - about that name.. Read the article, it will explain the origin of the name

Those that chose to have a Fairlady emblem are just the ones that wish to embrace the true heritage of the car

They changed the name for the US market because they knew they were dealing with homophobic, lowest-common-denominator-movie-enjoying, sports-watching, junk food quaffing, dumbed-down-for-his-thick-as-pig$hit-buddies-at-the-bar knuckle draggers.
Just my opinion, don't flame, etc.

Seemed I ruffled a few feathers here. I don't mean to cause any distress. I tried to be polite and a bit humorous. Like I said it is JUST my opinion. Yes, I WAS aware of the "heritage" of the name (and actually my dad turned down a date with Audrey Hepburn, the star of My Fair Lady", said her t*ts weren't large enough, so she almost could have been my mother). But, it still seems TO ME like the name does not fit any type of high powered sports car. I just wish one could state their opinions, whether positive or negative, without this kind of flaming. BTW the FerrariChat site was FULL of this kind of intolerance for ANY type of criticism also. Even more so. But, I still would like be able to post my opinions, without this kind of negative feedback. No car is perfect. Read the threads at the FChat site where I said I was trading in my Ferrari for a 370Z, and you'll see what I mean. Man did I get hammered, but IMO I'll take my Z over the Ferrari any day. I LOVE my Z!!!! Don't tell a Fcar owner that though. I've taken enough abuse. LOL |
