Fairlady Z emblem
Sure hope I don't get slammed for this post, but I just DON'T understand the enthusiasm for the Fairlady Z emblem. I would definately want that replaced with the 370Z emblem if my car came with such. I'm so glad I have a US version. Just doesn't seem to fit the aggressive style/design of the 370Z. IMO
Maybe if I was a female driver and my car was painted pink it would be OK! Sorry if I offended anyone here, as I said, it's just my opinion |
Well it is mainly due to the fact that the car is a Fairlady Z, the name is changed because the American market is the way it is.

Do you even know anything about this car? Like, the heritage of it? |
The name is iconic to this car, it's a huge part of this cars history, it's origin, it's heritage.
Fairlady Z - about that name.. Read the article, it will explain the origin of the name |
Those that chose to have a Fairlady emblem are just the ones that wish to embrace the true heritage of the car

They changed the name for the US market because they knew they were dealing with homophobic, lowest-common-denominator-movie-enjoying, sports-watching, junk food quaffing, dumbed-down-for-his-thick-as-pig$hit-buddies-at-the-bar knuckle draggers.
:tiphat: Just my opinion, don't flame, etc. |
...that was funny, horseface...

Seemed I ruffled a few feathers here. I don't mean to cause any distress. I tried to be polite and a bit humorous. Like I said it is JUST my opinion. Yes, I WAS aware of the "heritage" of the name (and actually my dad turned down a date with Audrey Hepburn, the star of My Fair Lady", said her t*ts weren't large enough, so she almost could have been my mother). But, it still seems TO ME like the name does not fit any type of high powered sports car. I just wish one could state their opinions, whether positive or negative, without this kind of flaming. BTW the FerrariChat site was FULL of this kind of intolerance for ANY type of criticism also. Even more so. But, I still would like be able to post my opinions, without this kind of negative feedback. No car is perfect. Read the threads at the FChat site where I said I was trading in my Ferrari for a 370Z, and you'll see what I mean. Man did I get hammered, but IMO I'll take my Z over the Ferrari any day. I LOVE my Z!!!! Don't tell a Fcar owner that though. I've taken enough abuse. LOL |
its a curvy car, it deserves the Fairlady Z badge
|
Call Nissan and tell them that you thinkg the Fairlady Z is a bad name and see what they say

You mean flaming like "Maybe if I was a female driver and my car was painted pink it would be OK!" Feed your BS to someone else, I can see when someone is being arrogant. |
I'm just glad they called it Fairlady, not Fatlady, although it's a fitting image to the 370Z.

I think it's cool either way, since I have a US spec car I'm keeping it original and keeping the 370z emblem on there, if I bought and imported JDM car with LH drive I would definitely keep the Fairlady badge on it.
As the original poster said, it's just his opinion and I can respect that, everyone on this forum does something to make the car more of what they like, if people were concerned about keeping the car to it's original heritage, they would keep everything stock. Look how many people take off the "Nissan" hamburger to replace it with a "Z" logo, why? 2 reasons, the Z logo looks better IMO, and the "Z" logo has more prestige then the "Nissan" one. I don't think it's all that great of a name either, but like I said, if it was on the car, I would keep it. Of course if it was called the happy lady "GayLady" then I might have to take it off. :icon17: |
Go emblem-less, problem solved...

Sorry fellas I couldn't resist I borrowed a pic from the Forged Performance Time Attack 370Z: Help us design our graphics scheme! thread and made it a true fairlady Z with Audrey Hepburn LOL can't you guys take a joke?????? |
I think horseface's comments were spot on. A bunch of "tough guys" who need names like "mustang" "charger" and "challenger" to make them feel manly.
I could drive in a pink car all day, I'm manly enough. |
Where's the negative rep button....lol

I'd be able to pull off a pink car. I'd badge it 'Softlady Z' I'd also be able to wear a pretty dress and deliver dainty cupcakes in it and not give a damn what mister sports bar thinks. Dodge's naming convention for cars is particularly hilarious. It's like they've asked zitty 12 year olds to name their cars for them. Which kinda of says where the core audience is at, maturity wise. :tiphat: |
