No. Is it the best option pkg on the Z? F**K yeah.
Some guys who want to start a ground up project, may not necessarily want the sport pkg. Some may opt for 6 piston front/4 piston rear Brembo/AP/Stoptech brakes, VOLKS and a quaife differential. So to someone else, they may not want the sport pkg due to it being NOT aggressive enough... For others, the sport package is an affordable way to get extraperformance.

So you might want to consider not summing up every opinion you don't agree with as hate or justification.
I just find it amusing that people think the sport package has anything to do with tracking. Because the reality is, you will find people who track and have the sports package, people who track that don't have the sports package, people who don't track and do have the sports package, and people who don't and don't. The OP didn't give any other criteria AFAIK, so then it just becomes a directionless thread about "this is what I did so this is what you should do". You're right that I was wrong to generalize, I'll admit I was in a bad mood that day.

I love the sports package and recommend it. I had never tracked a car in my life before the 370Z, and had no intention of tracking it when I purchased the car. Now I do track it. I doubt it was the SRM that made the difference yet I am happily at the track with all of it (sports package).

now the whole different issue is when they take days to find the color you want in just a base package, and a sports package in the color I want is completely out of question as they say it's impossible to find

so i just have to settle for the base without sports, which is fine, because i'm getting an amazing deal on it. Like i said before, only thing I Care about are the rims, so i can just upgrade that later which will come out to be cheaper in the end anyways.

although the brakes are nice, not a deal breaker for me. i'm all about aesthetics anyways.

You raise a really good point, it didn't even occur to me in terms of resale value how nice it is to have the factory sport package. When I purchased my Z, I had every intention on keeping it forever; I still do. But who knows what will happen 7-10 years down the line, I may change my mind.

Worth it 100%. It's only like $3,500 or something.

Look in the black book, the sport package is worth absolutely nothing extra. You can get some car guy to pay you extra for it, but most dealers aren't going to give you extra value.

We never use or our cars as trade to dealerships. We have listed and sold all of our cars at dealership pricing. We keep all maintenance records and keep the cars spotless inside and out.

Wow I must be the only guy that can negotiate blue book for my trade and still buy at invoice??? A couple of my dealers tell me they usually use black book when they are buying from another brand like someone with a chevy trading for a nissan or people with bad credit. People who buy the brand over and sustain good payment history get blue book. Maybe that's just a texas thing??? Actually when I traded my 3.5 altima. I recieved $2000 over blue book.

Interesting.

I paid $2000 below invoice. I just happened to get lucky, it's not the norm. I was offered 2K more in trade in than the other dealer I went to too.

Like I said. If you're a recurring customer and have good credit. They give pretty fair deals. If you have poor or fair credit, are crossing brands and are hungry for a car. You will get the "No Gel Special".
I don't know about what people get across america so I can't say its the norm or not. But what I can say is... if you are on this forum? And you are purchasing or trading? Talk to guys that done it first and I'm pretty sure you won't be a No Gel victim @ the stealership. Lots of great advice in here.

And No one should settle for black book. PERIOD. There's always a dealer that is willing to use the blue book. Don't believe the hype and be patient when purchasing. The only flaw people have is they want everything now. Do it with patience and the right info.

You'll be good to go.

As long as you keep thinking to yourself they are good deals. Then all all is good and you can be satisfied. I also have spotless credit but understand the dealership needs to make money. It is no different than any other business.
