How to create the ultimate stealth Z!!??

With the current economic conditions cities and towns all across America have dramatically increased police surveillance. Violations are now being agressively pursued. With that in mind I am looking to create the ultimate stealth Z that will be able to combat this phenomenon. What do you think should be included??

I currently have:

Valentine V1
Flip down license plate holder
Blinder Laser detector

Looking to purchase:

CB Radio
Police scanner
IR camera (for nite driving w/o lights)
Custom kill switches ( kill all lights while driving, etc)

I take these threats very seriously as a ticket now not only affects your license, but your insurance WILL increase. So...what do you think??

theDreamer 02-03-2010 12:50 PM

I have a V1 and no issues, Texas requires a front plate but I take the risk. A no plate ticket is a fix it ticket so no record usually recorded you just pay the fine.
I would invest in a blinder, but where I live currently most cops either roll around with K or Ka always on or will try to instant on attack which still fails. The other stuff seems like a bit of a waste overall, it would be "nice" but not worth the money.

GT Motoring 02-03-2010 01:20 PM

I have a lot of tickets on my record and my insurance has never increased because of it.

But to be honest, with things like flip down plates, driving without lights and custom kill switches you sound like you are looking to rob a bank or do something much worse than speeding.

What kind of driving do you do?!

g96818 02-03-2010 01:26 PM

:iagree:

AK370Z 02-03-2010 01:32 PM

I have an escort Passport and simply keep my eyes on all three mirrors, that's it.

Things like Flip down license plate holder , IR camera (for nite driving w/o lights) or Custom kill switches ( kill all lights while driving, etc) I'm not so sure about.... :wtf2: .. Are you running from the cop constantly?

initialgemini 02-03-2010 01:40 PM

I think you should sell the car, and invest in one of these.

This depends on your state. In MA your insurance rate is tied directly to your license points, as well as the typical age, location etc.

Sounds like he is a transporter.

Horseface 02-03-2010 01:44 PM

Just drive within the speed limits. It's a lot less hassle.

But even a transporter follows the rules of the road until of course you break one of your rules and look what is in the package. :stirthepot:

Can someone explain to me what's a custom kill switch? Can't you just turn the lights off by turning the headlight switch (and dimming the interior light to the lowest)?

Search Google for stealth Audi R8, should get what I am thinking of.
This project what he has described has been done with the R8, plus more, and it is nice but no real world use. The kill switch kills all lights on the interior/exterior and many other items.

Rasengan 02-03-2010 02:02 PM

an IR camera for driving at night without lights?!? this is one of the most rediculous threads i've ever seen...you must be smoking something to make you this paranoid

Xan 02-03-2010 02:05 PM

Keep the V1, replace the Blinder with an Interceptor and forget about all the other junk.

If you want to increase your changes of not getting hit with the laser, get a matte black wrap and add veil to your lights and license plate. Added bonus is that if it doesn't work, your car will at least look sick!

beyond that, this thread could easily be relabeled as "Tools to Help Me Run From Cops After I Rob This Bank and Kill a Few of its Customers Tonight"

areyouin729 02-03-2010 02:14 PM

I feel like Jack Bauer should be trying to take you down

but seriously no ticket has ever upped my insurance, just two accidents

XBadgerX 02-03-2010 02:25 PM

Is this what happens when mommy and daddy buy cars for their kids?

jbjones85 02-03-2010 02:27 PM

maybe not doing crazy illegal things will solve the need for this stuff..... hmmmmm

I read your post and the first thing that came to mind were the following lyrics to a great Black Sabbath tune, "Paranoia will destroy ya". Why not just obey the rules of the road with the odd bit of spirited driving?

brb 7 series

chicagozer 02-03-2010 04:18 PM

CB Radio? Really?

Good luck with the police scanner too. Very illegal in some states to have one in the car.

Urbanracer 02-03-2010 04:25 PM

If you ever do get pulled over, the cops are going to give you a pretty hard time when they see all that stuff your planning on putting in your car and will likely tag you with multiple offences instead of hitting you up for a simple speeding ticket. If they don't pull you over for speeding they'll find another reason to pull you over. They always do.

Why not try driving legally? The amount of money you're spending to TRY and avoid the law, could be used for a defensive driving course that WILL lower your insurance premium.

Just sayin...

Actually, drug runners used to do this in the late 80's up and down alligator alley in Florida. So it is not that far fetched.

6spd 02-03-2010 05:08 PM

I don't know what your priorities are, but they seem to be a bit askew if you ask me...

Don't forget your stealth paint, and you have to rework all the body panels to be perfectly flat with sharp edges!

SMJane_Again 02-03-2010 05:10 PM

Sounds like someone read Alex Roy's The Driver: My Dangerous Pursuit of Speed and Truth in the Outlaw Racing World... Makes for a great read, but definitely NOT something to try and replicate.

By the way, if you wanted a stealth car, the 370z was probably not the smartest platform to start with. Please just take your car to the track occasionally if you want to blow off a little steam, instead of setting yourself up to be the lead story on the local news. Please.

S.

6spd 02-03-2010 05:19 PM

it isn't stealth if everyone is aware of what you are doing

oh i fully understand that this has been done, i've seen videos of a guy that likes to drive at nighttime with lights off wearing night vision goggles...however, this thread was supposedly created for the sole purpose of eluding police due to "economic conditions" and do not make driving a passenger car on public roads at night time with your lights off any less dangerous

i'm surprised no one has brought up retrofitting the Z with a smoke screen or oil slicks

anyways, stealth mode is for the weak..when i traffic millions of dollars of drugs, i like to take the brute force approach and take my nuclear powered armored mech...as you can see i just got 4-point racing seats installed

Biggest difference between kill switch and cutting the lights off is when you hit the brakes they still don't light up.

Lets try 20 mph in a 20 mph, 30 in a 30 mph, 40 in a 40 mph, and so on. If this fails, then do like that old bumper sticker use to say "speed on, hell ain't far"

If you wanna do somethin "ballzy"....just be like the other morons on the show COPS and try running from the cops...and than find yourself in a ditch. No need to turn off lights and all that nonsense...do it the real way! SHOW YOURSELF and see where your path takes you

when i first read this thread, i was like hmmmmmmmmm wtf............

as much as the idea seems impractical/totally illegal, i dont think we need to flame on the OP........

his/her money, time, perogative..............

if i may add, lesson is only learned via experience........ plus, lets not assume anything in the first place - this is the lesson i have learned over many times..........

There is one thing I've quietly considered from time to time, and a mention appeared in this thread. It's not only dangerous to others -- perhaps lethal -- but wrongly used could get you some serious jail time.

That is an "oil slick" device. Perhaps not so much to spray the road, since you'd need to dump an awful lot of gallons fast, and that only seems it would pan out in the movies. Instead -- to spray an aerosol cloud to mess up the pursuing car's windshield. For tech, it could be as simple as a normal pressure garden sprayer loaded with used motor oil.

On the scale of legality, sanity, even psychopathology, it's about as smart as carrying a loaded gun in your car. But it's not a gun -- it's a purely defensive device (at least as I envision it). It could even be made "stealthy" by running a retractable arm low by your exhaust. (You'd have to extend it into the airstream, otherwise you'd wind up spraying your own car.)

The alternative to this is to never antagonize other drivers in the first place. But damn, we're talking Mitsubishi Lancers with freakin' spoilers trying to "challenge" a Z. Or Jerseyite Bimmer mensch trying to justify the extra 30-70K they spent for the "ultimate driving experience" -- which it ain't. ;) It seems everyone sees a Z on the road, and immediately wonders about the size of their "equipment".

FricFrac 02-03-2010 09:08 PM

You know I have a hard time doing the speed limit too. I think its absurd that an unskilled driver in an ancient piece of crap vehicle that takes four times the stopping distance as my car has the same speed limit as me. Regardless those are the rules and having a drivers license is a PRIVILEGED not a right. Trying to evade the Cops after you've been caught makes you a menace on the road and I hope if you do attempt to do so they throw the book at you. Why you would think its OK to put multiple people's lives in danger (including the Police who dedicate their lives to protecting their citizens) so you don't have to pay a piddly fine only boggles my mind.

Here are some things to try:

- Put a tennis ball under your gas peddle
- Attach a stainless steel wire noose around your balls tied to your throttle peddle
- Attach a spike to the bottom of your seat that raises as you depress the throttle peddle

These should serve as training tools to help you regain control of your downward spiral into the world of law evasion....

....or better yet do like the rest of us who have the same need for speed - take it to the track....

u were doing fine until that whole dedicating their lives to protecting citizens bs. now why would u go and throw a bomb like that? :shakes head:

bullitt5897 02-03-2010 10:37 PM

If your going all out you might as well buy a radar jammer too. It is illegal to own and if they pull you over its mandatory jail time! I am not sh!tting you one bit mandatory jail time for a radar jammer... like it is harmful to anyone :shakes head:

Other than that here is what I would do just for sake of argument: *I am not condoning this in any way shape or form*

1) paint car flat charcoal grey with a digital camo pattern of blacks and grays. This will break the car up and make it blend in with the road from distances.
2) Vinyl overlays in the same fashion over the taillights *perforated of course* Painted headlight housing in the same manner.
3) The quietest exhaust you can custom fab
4) lighting kill switch
5) IR Bulbs installed in DRLs *high powered*
6) Night vision monocle over one eye *NVG are known for loss of depth perception. Also NVG's have a limited field of view. Combining normal eye sight and NVG has yielded the best results*
7) Flip up plates
8) electric privacy glass over plate and windows except front
9) Camera dome on roof with Day/Night HD cameras in all 4 directions
10) Drop down monitor from headliner
11) Runflats!!!
12) Night Rider Tractor Trailor truck on call 24/7/365
13) Get out of Jail free card!
14) Last but not least as much power and grip you can get to the ground! Gotta be able to be gone in 5-10 secs!

Thats doing it right! and to be on the safe side you can always throw in a flux capacitor!!! and say FOCK you Piggies travel through time Mother Fockers!!!! hahahahahahahaha
