over in NY its usually 15mph over and you will get stopped. You could drive by a shade under 70 and be ok. To be honest most of the cars I see pulled over are pos.

You can get all your fast and furious out in that, and it not cost you a dime (in real dollars) to fix it, yourself, or other people. |

For an idea of what originally made mme think of this topic: Alex Roy reviews his dream car: the Audi R8 Blackbird — Autoblog Alex Roy, currently locked in an M5 with our own Damon Lavric, recently got a video tour of a rather nifty Audi R8 owned by someone who insists he remain nameless. Codenamed Blackbird, the coupe is stuffed with enough gadgets to be a testbed for NASA's shuttle replacement, but don't for a second think the interior resembles a jungle of wires, screens and antennae: all the electronic gear is seamlessly integrated in a most impressive way. A sample of the wares in the blacked out supercar with the gunmetal gray blade include four GPS units, two radar detectors, police scanner, CB radio, kill switch for all rear lights, high-speed broadband Internet with Wi-Fi running on a tablet PC, power ports, takedown lights, a remote-controlled exhaust bypass valve, and -- get this -- a liquid-cooled infrasonic wave pulse generator. Apparently, you don't want to stand by that last item if you wish to have children. Follow the jump for the whole story in moving pictures. |

I mean, regardless of how fast I drive, I don't worry much about the increase of police surveillance...if anything, I'm actually glad for that. It eliminates the truly wreckless drivers... it sounds like the CLOSEST thing to legal that this setup can be used for is if you plan to ILLEGALLY street race, and need to really get away and camouflage yourself. Again, I said "CLOSEST TO LEGAL", I did NOT say legal...cuz I can't think of anything more legal to that... and that Stealth R8, I mean seriously, did he really buy a $100,000 car to run from the cops? I can't really think of anything good that could come from it...and it's very obvious that the owner is no outstanding law-abiding citizen to be hiding behind the camera.... I can understand spending a little money to save your *ss once in awhile when you decide to do a little spirited driving, but to transform an entire car into an F-117 on 4 wheels, I'm sure Boeing can make you a little sum sum...

Hurray another reckless driver. next month we can have a report on him killing somebody thanks to speeding.
it always annoys me seeing people blast past me especially when its wet. here its mostly BMWs that speed. worst I have seen was some BMW flying past me on the highway at about 120 MPH while it was utterly storming. Oh yes and this happened 5 minutes after I passed a crash where the car's front was just gone. I always try to respect the speed limits. I admit it IS hard especially since 60 mph now looks like your going 30 |

look dude. i had a V1 and it saved my *** plenty of times.
but now that i have turbos, they get my *** into trouble all the time. but they also get me out of it. by the time the cop pulls out of wherever he/she was hiding, im already gone. if you are on the highway speeding, and you see a cop nail you, most likely you are going 75-85 mph. it'll take a while for the cop to catch up to you. he'll have to go faster than you are to catch up to you. if you are going 75mph-85mph thats a football field around every 3 seconds. it takes 15 seconds for a crown vic police cruiser to get to 80mph. 10 seconds for a 5.7LV8 charger police cruiser. so just so you know you have plenty of time to to get off on the next exit and come to a stop. If the police officer just happens to not see this happen then your golden. |
