Cashier's check, cashier's check, and cashier's check only.........

cash is just too risky as well.........

i have sold and bought many cars myself - and every time, it was cashier's check.....

plus, cashier's check is equivalent of cash...........it takes 1-2 business day(s).....

as far as listing........

1) this forum or the likes
2) autotrader
3) craigslist (more cost effective than the autotrader, but you need to update wkly)
4) cars.com

OH? Have you been oblivious to all the "cashiers check" scams out there?

Stuff like this is why he's nervous. Fake cashiers checks are pretty common these days and hardly the equvalent of cash. You may not know for a week or two if the "Check" is legit even if the bank has cashed it in good faith. . The seller or victim always gets burned cause the bank will want their money back. By that time the car and title are long gone. Read more here for variations on the theme:

Only accept a cashier's check that you can (and have) verified.

Agreed. Even cashiers checks are no longer perfectly safe. And I've even read of set ups where you are paid cash, buyer drives off with your car and a couple of his thugs then follow you and mug you en route to the bank. Last time I did cash, I spent a hundred bucks and took an off duty brute of a security guard along with me. Turned out to be unnecessary but I felt better.
