Attention fellow toy car collectors

Just a FYI to all my fellow toy car collectors, just announced for 2010 hot wheels new models is the 370z and G37. Not yet released to stores but keep your eyes open next time you are by the toy isle as you never know when they might show up. Looking to add to my 500+ Z toy collection

280z/300zx 02-02-2010 05:22 PM

What does that have to do with anything.

Different people have different hobbies. If one started collecting at young age, by the time they are 40 years old, they will have a significant collection of toy cars. Op DID say "Attention all toy car collectors" ;)

Thanks for the heads up

Totally agree, I will actually pick one up for my desk at work if they come out with one in my colour!

If you look at serious car collectors (for example at Barret Jackson) the very unique and exciting cars all have models with the car. Just a neat thing to add to your collection!

Big article in the March Car and driver on Hot Wheels collecting...It's big $$$ these days!

dad 02-02-2010 06:38 PM

I have a Hot Wheels 350Z and several 1/18 scales ! I also have a 350 that laser cut in glass or plastic(Not sure what it's made of).

corner3garage 02-02-2010 06:40 PM

We actually have a bunch of model super gt cars that are lying around the shop! The Tamiya models that are there make some of the best looking model cars available.

RavenRonnie 02-02-2010 06:44 PM

I have always had diecasts of my cars.. and I am excited to hear this...
Thanks for sharing!!

antman22 02-02-2010 07:07 PM

I've got a collection of cars, this would be a great addition...

Red370 02-02-2010 07:09 PM

Our daughter went to a birthday party a few years back. I drove her over to this guy's house. VERY nice house (he is a custom house builder). I have a few pictures of his garage that was completely custom-built around Hot Wheels theme. He estimated his somewhere around $25,000 - $30,000, I believe. The cabinet handles were custom made using hotwheels. The packs on the walls are held in place by built-in slots.

(pardon the pics from my cheap cell camera but you get the idea !)

eddieconfetti 02-02-2010 08:17 PM

^^Amazing. I cant wait till it comes out. Might as well pick one up for me even though i dont collect toy cars. Im gonna put it on my dashboard. Make my interior look sexier.

Japan, I picked one up myself on my last business trip there. It's sitting on my desk at work now. Next time I go there I can pickup some more of people here are interested. They are about $40.

Oh, and don't take the die cast model car collecting hobby to lightly. There are collectors clubs, magazines, conventions you name it. My dad has a collection of about model 800 cars, mostly 1/43 scale. A lot of them are hand build specials. You'd be shocked to see the prices some of these model cars go for at swap meets/conventions. I have about 100 model cars myself, mostly 1/43 scale Ferrari's. I was a big Ferrari fan as a kid, but I stopped collecting them when I was about 15 years old so they're all sitting in a box in the basement now...

And now I'm older I can't afford a real Ferrari, so I ended up buying a Z  Ah well, it's faster then the 308 GTB I wanted as a kid, so I can't complain too much :)

XMODS also has a 2010 370Z RC car... you can pick it up at Radioshack.

I got one for Christmas; it's pretty fun to mess around with!

Yep, these were the only colors I saw as well. But let me know if you're interested. If I don't go there, I can ask one of my Japanese colleagues to bring a few next time they come over.

JB1 02-02-2010 11:34 PM

Ok, I'll see what I can do. It might take a
few weeks, but I'll keep you informed!

It seems to be mostly sold-out right now at Radioshack.

I got one a few days ago from someone on eBay - it's a pretty cool toy!

afbond03 02-10-2010 09:32 AM

I picked up an XMOD at RS this past weekend.

Now I just need to paint it black.

The orange one...did you make that stand? Does it have a cover for it?

Endgame 02-20-2010 01:04 PM

Hey.... If you all want a nice high quality 1:18 scale model of the Z, I recommend sending an email to Kyosho at the below email address and bugging them for one! They are on the fence at this point so the more of us that bug them may move them off the fence!!

Slynky 02-23-2010 12:36 PM

I added a little collectible to my "garage"... ;)

(I say collectible because the XMODs were discontinued)
