That's whay my Accords owner's manual said. The car calculated temperatures, cold starts, speeds etc and gave you an estimated oil life.
Also it was claimed by the Honda service department that the oil in the car from the factory was "special" and I needed to leave it in there until 4k miles which I did. Not sure if it's the same with the Z or not.
