Default Fuel cutting out of safety feature??

I've noticed this problem since I've had the car but always attribute it to cutting out when the rear wheels spin. I never paid attention to what RPM i was in. Lately I've been getting on it at an on ramp or a straight away and with the traction control off, i noticed the car cut out at around 5000 rpms. I'm not even hitting redline and the wheels are not spinning that I'm aware of. New tires last season. Michelin pilot sports. What's going on? It does have an ecutek tune. I don't have any dash lights or any codes etc. It drives wonderfully other than that. Do you think it's actually spinning the wheels... Usually in 3rd gear and it's activating the safety cut out?

Any help or enlightening in the issue would be great.

Title should say OR safety feature...

Please explain your issue better. If you have Ecutek traction control it is on all the time even if you turn it off via the switch.

The tune is ecutek - tune by RS Enthalpy. There is no traction control in the tune that I'm aware of. I think i explained myself pretty well... What else is there to say? It runs better, more peppy with the traction control off. I did have it on my 2nd setting on the tune. I only have 3. The 3rd being valet. 1 is normal, 2 is slight burble in exhaust on decel. I'm pretty sure I'm not spinning it losing traction when this happens as it happens each time i get on it usually in 3rd at around 5 to 6 k rpms. It cuts out like it would if you were losing traction, even with traction control off. These new tires are grippy as hell though.

I'm checking with Enthalpy... I'll have to find out exact details on the tune since i bought it that way, previous owner didn't give much details. Why would someone have a custom rev limit on a tune if that is what it is?

Fuel pump going out at 29k miles? It drives great other than that.. no other issues that would point to a fuel pump problem. Hmmm...

10 year old fuel pump though regardless of mileage. I recommend data logging your issue and sending it to your tuner for their professional opinion.

Yeah, I agree. It could be related to anything ranging from a fueling issue to knock protection kicking in due to excessive heat. Your tuner should be able to figure out the issue from the logs.

The phone + ECUtek adapter is probably going to be the easiest setup. You can go to the data logging part of the App and select which monitors you want to run. Everything will be saved into CSV file you can then email to your tuner.

Discovered today that this fuel cut only happens in Map 2 on my ecutek tune. No issues in map 1. I'm not even quite sure what map 2 is... I was told it's slight burbles... But fuel cut at 5200 rpm makes no sense.

Finally found out what my issue is. I bought the ecutek obd thing from the guy that originally did the tune in my car... Martin from R. S. Enthalpy.

He says i have 2 maps performance, and pops map. I also have flat foot shifting and launch control.

Map 2 is the slight pops map. This is also 2 step (not launch control) where it hits a rev limiter at 5200 usually while I'm in 3rd gear, and then cuts fuel and/or spark. What is the point of this? How do i use it? Will it continue to cut out at 5200 even if I'm in 4th gear? I'm just not seeing the point if i can never get to redline in this map.

This is kind of like rolling 2 step... But it makes no sense to me. Can someone explain?

My two cents, don't use it. It's for rolling launches on turbocharged cars doing pulls.

Just stick with the performance map.
