One is a four door, four cylinder turbo, AWD and the other is a two door, V6, RWD.
These two cars are very different in both style, power, handling, etc. Best bet, go test drive them back to back.

Well, 98% of the people will tell you the 370Z because...........duh, it is a 370 forum.
However, is your choice! Test drive both of them and make your purchase on the intended use of the vehicle. GL.

I recently went to look at Evos and STIs with a friend who was shopping for a new car. I can tell you that the STI (and possibly the EVO, but I didn't drive it) have noticeable turbo lag. While the reviews always minimize the lag, I found the STI didn't really get moving until 4500 RPM. My suspicion is the Evo is similar. The fit and finish was also below the 370's. The Evo is very nice inside but IMHO doesn't have the styling of the Z. The Recaro seats were a problem point for my friend as well...he's about 6' 220lbs. I'm 5'10", 180lbs and they were snug but comfortable.
Having driven the STI, I wouldn't trade the strong, even pull from the 370's NA V6 for either the Evo or the STI. The 370 also has a growl and exhaust presence that the Evo completely lacks.

Let me make this easy for you!
Does an interior matter to you? If so, buy the 370Z Do you live in an area where you get a lot of snow and must get to work/class/etc 100% of the time? If so, buy the Evo X Do you have a family that requires 4 doors? Evo X Do you want a car that was "built" as a sports car? 370Z I had this choice too and I went with the 370Z. I don't regret it at all, but both are very good cars.

For the OP, if you go test drive the EVO X and Z, the EVO is gonna ride nicer just to let you know. I test drove a bunch of cars before I bought the Z and my favorites were the 335i, EVO, and C6 Vette. Everything else had their issues. The Z has a very naughty clutch and the transmission talks to you during 1st and 2nd gear shifts! It says "click clickidy click-click" or somehting like that. The STI has a cheap interior and is too dam expensive for... well a Subaru. If you test drive the cars back to back just be prewarned the EVO will have a nicer ride.

sad part is some folks here use their z to go grocery shopping...and even walmart... actually they use their z for everything. including their job for domino's delivery. hahaha (ok, not sure about the last one).
not that the z is some expensive car, but i like to use it for motoring....and only that. |
