SF has been around a long time. Z1 picked up on a popular product and made their own modification/tweaks to make it "theirs". Without proper research to see availability at other dealer and calling SF for proper pricing and availability, it's hard to say whats what. It's probably safe to assume they will be very close. In the end, Z1 copied an existing product. Can they make it cheaper? probably. Is the other guy just overpriced? Maybe. This is just an example of a product out there and maybe Z1 developed other things in house before anyone else. Their CAI is an example of "how do I make it different than the others" Z1 solution is to convince the buyer that they don't need to cut any frame but just squeeze the sillicon elbow through a tight hole? I'm sure it works and you wont notice a thing, but to me, thats not R&D that sets them significantly apart form the others. No hate on for Z1, but I refuse to believe they are making an exceptional product or have spent countless hours developing it.
