its the same technology that they've use on some high end homes that build their bathroom glass walls with it....they send an electrical current through the glass surface that produces an opaque surface....once you cut off the current, it goes back to being clear.

neat trick, but i dunno if i'd want it in my car.

kind of a repost
but i'll run it if the thing is a lot cheaper. think about it, parked under the hot sun, just black out your windows and keep the heat out

Definitely would be useful for keeping the car cool, especially in warmer areas. That being said, I'd rather just a regular tint that is a lot cheaper, even if it doesn't keep the car as cool.

i am against window tinting on a nice car because i want people to see me driving it

if i was driving a car that I don't want people to see me driving then i would tint it completely dark

That kind of glass has had some awesome implementations in the car audio world. Flip a switch and all of your amps and stuff are gone. *POOF* lol.

Don't like it for window tint though. Needs to be on limo dividers. Already has it's home in bathrooms lol.

Well in certain way I agree with you...

But I always tint my windows, especially to keep the heat out, the car looks nice and in some cases you need to conceal.... your female passenger.

I need this now - in black tho, not white. We can't tint our front windows in Jersey at all, but I like front tint to 1) help keep the car cool and 2) hide the interior from people looking to steal things (not that I leave stuff in there routinely anyways, but sometimes between shopping stops). This would be perfect to drive around clear and park tinted.

Yeah, it's awesome till it shorts out and blacks out your windshield on the highway! OOF!
