Oil Change at Dealership - Did they do it?
Hello Everyone. So I took my car for an oil change today at the Nissan Dealership. I do have a dashcam on my vehicle for insurance purposes or whatnot. From the oil change this morning, I can see that the Nissan Technician turned the car on and drove it to the garage at 9:19 and the next time it was turned on is at 9:34 and backing the vehicle out to the parking lot. My question here is that, during this very short time, is it possible that they didn't change the oil and say they did? How realistic is it to complete the oil change within this timeframe? It seems insanely fast to me.

Drain the oil, set the tire pressures, fill up the oil with an oil gun and top off the washer fluid. It can totally be done in 15 minutes. Just look at the oil on the dipstick. Does it look new?

It's possible, but I wouldn't bet that it was a thorough job.
It takes more than 15 minutes to let as much of the old oil to drain out as possible. Me personally, after removing the drain bolt and filter, I let her sit for about 45 minutes to get as much out. Check the dipstick to see the oil color. New oil should barely be a light tan color, and also check to see if it's below or above the "F" mark. When checking the oil level, do this after the car has sat overnight and when the engine is cold. Why not do the oil changes yourself?

Actually, if the car was backing out at 9.34 AM after being driven to the bay at 9.19 AM, that means the oil change was less than 15 minutes. Think of the time it takes to lift the car, remove the undertray, put back the under tray, lower the car, and driving it out.

It's very possible to have your oil change and inspection done in 15 minutes. Especially if the techs have experience and move with a purpose. A lot if dealerships use two lube technicians per car to get it out quickly. One tech checks and does A, B, and C while the other tech checks and does X, Y and Z.
Former dealership tech here. I've seen it done and have done it.
