Airbag SRS on the Dash on - Solid (Does not blink)
I store the z's for the winter and I take the batteries out as well. Upon putting the battery back on last weekend on the 370, the airbag light came on solid red. No blinking at all.
I attempted the reset procedure anyways for it... but traversing from OFF->ON, the light never blinks at all to go into diagnostic mode. I've tried pulling the battery out overnight, reflashed my tune, checked for codes... nada. Any ideas? I made an appointment at the dealership, but figured I seek guidance from the forum gods Much appreciated! (sigh, on another note... just clocked 18K miles on my 14 nismo and already starting to hear the CSC starting to make noise on cold starts. Makes me cringe. ) |
Perhaps these may be of help:
http://www.the370z.com/nissan-370z-w...ays-codes.html http://www.the370z.com/audio-video/5...urn-off-2.html From the 2nd thread: "I know this is an old thread. But if you cleared the light and ur airbag light came back on, its becuz the airbags are disabled. When i got my headunit installed the installer knicked my airbag wire, so even my traction control light would not go off. After the shop ran no codes i took it to nissan, who obviously popped with 3 electrical codes... Would of cost me over $800 to fix, however they deemed it the shops fault so of course the shop fixed it... However noone has the best code reader than nissan Just my 2 cents" On a side note, what does the CSC noise sound like on cold starts? |

Thanks for the response though. Maybe I'll just have to bite the bullet and let Nissan handle this one. |
It's really weird that theirs are no codes and a warning light on the dash. What reader are you using? Maybe try to go to an autozone or similar that reads codes for free?

I ended up dropping it off at Nissan... sigh, they are 2 hours / $290 dollars into it and they still did not figure it out. Thought it would have simply been something that could be reset. Blah... hate bringing it to the dealerships. My carvana warranty just expired last month too. |

UPDATE:
So Talked with the Tech, Consult was bringing up: "Airbag Diagnostic Unit Sensor No communication Internal Open Circuit" |

Nissan was going to charge me 1,500 for a new SRS module + labor. It was just a bad fuse. The Air Bag fuse was fine, it was the fuse that says "Elect Parts" fuse that was bad. Kinda called the dealership and chewed them up a bit. If i was a normal customer, I would have been ditching out 1,500 dollars. I have the FSM for SRS Diagnostics. First step is to plug in Consult. Second step is a preliminary check. A: Check Battery, B: Check Fuses. Found the issue using their documentation in less than 15 minutes. |
Should be a 10 yr. safety items warranty, why are you being charged?
