Rip mz daizy?

Went to dealer to have the Rouge washed yesterday. Salesman told me he heard the kid that bought her totaled her. Anybody here confirm? Was bought from Sutherland Nissan in GA. I no longer have a fake book account to check there.

The only saving grace is that you didn't have to witness the (possible) destruction yourself...

Depending on the state, you may be able to get more info. if you still have the VIN.

Yea, it’s weird… I shouldn’t care but there is still an attachment.

I ran a Carfax report and nothing showed up. Might take some time, I don’t know.

OxZed 03-01-2023 08:27 PM

It would potentially show up in a salvage auction search as well, assuming the total loss was somewhat recent .... Copart or IAAI.

Nothing weird at all. I think all of us continue to wonder what happened to our previous vehicles that we had an attachment to. I still stalk my 350Z and 370Z here and there just to see how it's doing.

Any updates on MZ DAIZY?

Spooler 03-06-2023 09:57 PM

Same thing happened to me when I sold my 300zxtt. I didn't find out about it until 10yrs later. Guy drove it through some high waters and hydro locked the engine. Bent some rods. The car was totaled. It didn't last 5 months.

I think the lesson here is: NEVER SELL YOUR Z!

The kid who bought my Z from the dealer I traded it to. Found me/the Z on youtube, through my Dyno vids. Said it's his first car and thanked me for keeping it in good condition. I followed up by giving him all the info he needs about the car and who to take it to when something comes up.

Hopefully it stays in good condition. But when I had it it was a garage queen that only saw weekends and nights. Now its gonna be a daily driver I assume, at least its still running.

Good luck Troy if you're reading this and don't f*ck up that beautiful Z.

When I got my newer car the dealer was interested in getting the Z as part of the payoff but I just couldn't part with her. Most people won't understand the difference when the car is special to you. I would hate to sell it and find out it was destroyed.

IMO, there are certain cars that are mass-produced but still something special about them. I traded in my s2k for my first Z and while I have no regrets, I do miss the s2k.

20 years from now, you will esp. appreciate that you did not give her up.

I'm leaving my two 370Zs to my kids as inheritance. Even though they will not care for them as good as I do, it would be very hard for me to sell them.

Man, if I had the garage space. I would've kept the Z along with the SS.

There's a reason Z's in well condition really hold their value. In 10 to 20yrs when we start to see the price of these really go up for the more rare trim levels, I know I'm going to be kicking myself.

Hopefully, being this might be the last generation (6th) to get a V8 in a Camaro, they also will appreciate in value as time moves on.

This man loves the 370Z's so much he bought 2! :icon17:

Maybe sell 1 to MZ DAIZY? I know he's itching to get back into one.

:mad::mad:

So you didn't have to sell to get the Camaro? Even though you don't have the garage space, the SS should stay parked outside and the Z inside the garage.

I drool when looking at a 240Z/280Z. 20 years from now, the 370Z will no doubt still look damn good. Out of the Z line, I really think the 370Z is the best looking.

And I wouldn't worry about future Camaro's coming out with V8's. Everyone is trying to go electric. The Corvette is officially going electric and I'm sure others will follow:

I can totally empathize with that. I tried to convince myself to do the most sensible thing and sell my aging and rusty 2000 Celica GT when I bought the Z in 2019. But it was my first car, and I just couldn't bring myself to do it. Never even offered it for sale :)

So instead, I entrusted it to my fiancé and started looking for some boring family car that any responsible adult should have. To make a long story short, I ended up buying a fully rebuilt, shiny 2001 Celica GTS for a pretty good price. Actually, about a third of what would a new family hatch had cost me, as the car prices were already through the roof in my country.

So, now I have two Celicas as daily cars and the Z in the garage :D

I definitely agree. If you can, keep them all. S2k would fetch a pretty penny today

Mine was an ap2 CR. It took me 1 year to track one down for the color and options that I wanted (had to have AC). It was a fun car for sure, but I've always wanted a Z. At that time, I wasn't able to afford taking on another car payment (the CR was basically 2 car payments as it was) and traded for a base 2007 350Z. If I could go back in time, I would have kept the s2k and went straight for a 370Z later down the road.

And yeah, looks like the s2k has a collector status. 2009 CR sold for over $200K at an auction in 04.2022:

I hear ya, but I really like my prized possessions to be garaged. Especially when they are just fun toys and not DD's. There was no way I could leave the SS outside and same goes for the Z. The paint is too perfect on both. I have serious OCD when it comes to the look of perfection when it comes to my toys.

Having any of them sit outside would give me serious anxiety.

One of the main reasons I sold MZ DAIZY.

danegrey 03-11-2023 05:38 PM

i Understand about babying your cars and taking care of them. I got over that when i decided to track the Z, it now has battle scars and damn proud of them.

My daily driver, is that, will work on keeping it nice and clean, but will drive it.
As my moto states, 'Remember You bought it to drive it' and I stand by it

I get it. I'm just like at the end of the day it's just a car. If I wanted to look at something and not enjoy it I would've spent the money on art hahahahahah!
