CAN I MODDED MAZDASPEED3 BEAT MY 370z!?!?
hey guys, im still new to the forums here.... well heres my story. I have a 2007 3.5 v6 camry se (268hp 247 tq) as my daily driver to school n stuff.... recently my friend got a 09 mazdaspeed3. his car is broken in and we raced at a 2 mile straightaway. i ended up beating him by 1 car length (surprisingly) and after my camry K&N intake installed on der, i beat him by 2 and a 1/2 car lengths... couple weeks later he installed his cobb intake on his speed3. i just got back home from the race and he beat me by 1 1/2 car lengths!! just an intake on the speed3 has proven much gains... I have a 370z that i got last month, still 500 miles (not broken in yet) . Now he says with his modded speed 3 yet to come (intake, exhaust, downpipe, straight pipe and tune) he says he can walk on my 370z. (my z has stillen intake and exhaust, -test pipe coming soon) Is this possible? can a fully bolt-on speed3 beat the 370z? ive seen youtube vids where lightly modded speed3's barely keeping up with the HR 350z... your opinion will really help! thanks!

I live my life a quarter mile at a time. Nothing else matters: not the mortgage, not the store, not my team and all their bullsiht. For those ten seconds or less, I'm free. |
I just recently got rid of my 07 speed3 and I can tell you theyre quick even in stock form. I kept up pretty well with my friends evo x stock 3rd gear pulls. Injen and aem cais net around 20 to 25 whp let alone a tune and exhaust mods. It wont get to 400 hp reliablly but 300 whp is very cheap to do with even more tq in a car that weighs 3150 lbs. I think our cars top end especially with intake and exhaust would overtake the mazda modded when it came to rolling race. Hands down would win from a stop with the mazdas fwd and 1st/2nd gear tq limiters.

Just by chance, do you wear a gold chain?

nothing we say will matter...if you want to find out, get your car broken in, you two take it to the track. keep it off the roads.
you'll have your question answered there :) |

No, a modded MS3 cannot beat a 370Z. No way, no how. They aren't even in the same league. One is a 4-door, the other isnt. One is right-wheel-drive, the other is wrong-wheel-drive. Its just not possible. You can throw as much money as possible at an MS3 and unless it involves turning the motor 90 degrees horizontally, and a 4-to-2 door conversion, its just going to burst into flames.

if you beat him by 2+ lengths and all he got was an intake and he then beat you by 1+, something is wrong with yalls driving abilities. No way will an intake will make up 3 car lengths. Mazda stock vs 370 stock = Z FTW; mazda full bolt ons vs 370Z full bolt ons = Z FTW. If you camry beat him then the Z will kill him. Again thought yalls driving skills are making it hard to get a good determination. There are a couple other post in the past about this same subject. And the Mazdaspeed 3 is butt fukin ugly.
|
Yes, yes, yes, a modded anything can beat a 370z.
