So, this morning was a toasty 29 degrees. Drove 20 miles to work and the oil temp gauge never left 140 degrees. On the way home it was 52 degrees. Temp gauge said 240 degrees. I have an oil cooler with a thermostat. Car ran no higher than 190, on 90+ days. I noticed that when I turned the car off, the gauge dropped to 180 for about 5 minutes and then dropped to bottom. I’ve never noticed if the gauge stayed “on” after ignition is off. My question is, faulty oil cooler, faulty thermostat on cooler, faulty sender or faulty gauge? Thanks in advance, youse guys!
