Just received my "scuff protection" panels today. Yes, they are peel-n-stick. Will post pictures tomorrow after I install them. They cost me $110 delivered, which seems a little steep for what they are. But I think they'll dress up the doors a bit.
In similar news: Does anyone know if the door "step light" (i.e, the red reflector on the inside door card of each car door) is illuminated on the new Z? I'd love it if there were any easy way to illuminate those red lenses on our cars. |

I can't find a photo of the 370Z installed version anymore, I remember seeing a photo of it in a Nissan Japan PDF accessory catalog which no longer seems to be online and luckily I noted down the part number for a possible future purchase. I recall it being about $100 (per door?). It seems Nissan Japan makes a variant of it for most of their models. Here is a version of it installed on a Nissan van, the 370Z version I remember has the same blue LED pattern. Last edited by viiv; 03-26-2023 at 03:10 AM. |

"Scuff Protection"
I installed the "scuff protection" panels (a Nissan accessory for the new Z) on my 370Z today. Here's my review:

Wow, great job! On the Nissan press catalogue photos, it seems like they have a print with a pattern that I guess is trying to look like carbon fibre? In person is that the case, or no? Can you take a more close up photo of the pattern printed on the panels or at an angle to try to capture it in a photo? Thanks

If scuff protection is the game, I can't see why we couldn't adhere a vinyl wrap in the color of your choosing? Also, continue the wrap around the panel for a seamless fit.
Not sure if Wrap will bond to plastic the same way as it would a painted surface. Or how much heat is involved that it may damage the interior plastic underneath. |
