Its happened to me twice now but i got a P0500 code thrown for Vehicle Speed Sensor A along with a P0315 code which there seems to Nissan service bulletin for this code (NTB19-120)

... Any idea on where this sensor is or how to test it? last time this happened i cleared the code and it didn't come back until i was in sport mode doing around 70-80, downshifted and then opened the throttle a little, it just threw this code again, running 265/35/20 and 305/30/20 on Vossen VFS-2.

Cleared the code, gonna wait and see if it happens again, next time i go to the dealer for an oil change and inspection, ill have them take a look and run a diagnostic...
i thought maybe it could have been because of the tire/wheel setup but not sure...

Anyone know how hard it is to change out/replace the sensor and if extra programming would be needed? Wondering if i could just order this and not have to go to the dealer

Thanks... just FYI for anyone with a Nissan 370Z - 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020... and having this speed sensor code: the correct part number for the speed sensor is:

If you shop around dealers online, the price changes, i found a dealer in Chicago shipped for 120$ than the dealer around me asking for 220$... just take some time and browse around for any part from multiple dealers before buying as the prices fluctuate.

You should try to erase and replicate at lower speeds then try to trigger the code on command. If you're able to find a rhythm it is possible that it's your tires.

4 sizes over might be a bit too much depending on your offset. I believe Ecutek can monitor this.

Being that's a speed sensor A means 7at. This sensor has given issues to the G37 community it's located inside of the trans

As for the p0315 crankshaft position sensor goes, they could be related or separated.

by related I mean they could share a ground at one point.

The only way you'll get to the bottom of it is by monitoring these and try to get them to appear when commanded.

Ive tried at lower speeds, it runs perfectly fine.. no issues... its happened to me only twice, once was from a launch when i first got the car and then second time during a downshift... since then its never come back on and i'm assuming its the tires that throw it off since they are pretty aggressive... but i bought a new sensor and will eventually replace it down the road if the code comes back...

Intermittent issues normally lead to tires. It happened to me on my coupe staggered setup on a sedan.

Had the normal size I get in a different brand ended up having more meat on the tire which threw it off. Sensor is fine in my opinion.
