2015 NISSAN 370z Airbag Light Issue

Hi everyone!

I been having a problem with my Z. I had this airbag light flashing for almost and year and I can’t figure out the issue. I went to the dealership and they couldn’t get their computer to communicate to the module.

I changed the seats to oem leather and changed the clockspring to no avail.

This issue can be seen here.

The video shows the airbag light in diagnostic mode. Does anyone know what that series or blinks mean? Would greatly appreciate it since I’m just throwing money away as of now.

I’ve also tried the series of on/off reset for the light. Nothing works.

Find out the code that's stored. If you cant communicate with the airbag module, have you checked the airbag fuse? If you had aftermarket seats, I wonder if the vehicle even has the airbag diagnostic unit in it. If you can't communicate and you want to throw parts at it, I would replace the airbag diagnostic unit, 1st.

Where’s the airbag fuse? I’ll check that out then replace the unit. Thanks.

Not to bring up an old thread, but I am currently diagnosing a SRS light that is solid red (never blinks). Nissan tech diagnosed that it can't communicate with the diagnostic unit, with a "internal open circuit" in the notes. I checked the airbag fuse on drivers side near the clutch. Is there another fuse somewhere I can take a look?

my 14 nismo only has 18K miles. I store it for winters and when I brought it out last weekend, this light came on. Was never on before. Never in an accident. Do diagnostic units go bad ? Never heard of them going bad

Wow, weird. I replaced the fuse anyways and the light went away... wth?

I sold the car. I believe the dealership fixed it. Nissan of Weston couldn’t figure it out

I actually just fixed it. lol. Nissan was going to charge me 1,500 for a new SRS module + labor. It was just a bad fuse. The Air Bag fuse was fine, it was the fuse that says "Elect Parts" that was bad.

I have the FSM for SRS Diagnostics. First step is to plug in Consult. Second step is a preliminary check. A: Check Battery, B: Check Fuses.

I called Nissan and ripped them a new one. Unbelievable. I guess it recently changed Names and management. F'ers also took a screw driver to my plastic trim pieces and left scratches.

Makes sense for Floridiots.

Safety warranties are 10 yrs. unlimited miles so it should have never left the dealership with an answer of "we can't figure it out" in the first place.
