370 vs. 350 seat comfort
Hey all - Looking for anyone with an opinion about driver's seat comfort. I have a 370z (leather seats). Now, I'm relatively young (32) but I've got bad hips, and I've noticed that the 370 has a very narrow seat-bottom.. meaning that the bolsters on the sides of your a** are VERY snug against your hips and don't let you relax your legs outward at all. Nor do they adjust, so it makes my driving comfort, well, slighly uncomfortable.
The other day I took a 350 for drive (leather seats) and I'm fairly sure that these a** bolsters are not as 'tight' as those of the 370, which led to a more pleasant feel (meaning that I could let open my legs up a little bit more and drive more comfortably). Can anyone who's owned/driven a 350 confirm that the butt-bolsters are a little more forgiving on a 350? It almost looked like they were angled more downward that those of my car. Thanks in advance- |

i'm 5'8", 160lbs. and my 370 (Roadster with leather), to me, feels more snug all around than my previous '06 350Z. The seats definitely feel like they hold you in tighter. I also think the 350 can adjust the seats farther back allowing more legroom. I'm not sure how you guys over 6' can fit in the 370! I have my seats as far back as possible without rubbing and could still use a few more inches of leg room
EDIT: I forgot to mention...I'm about 10-12lbs. heavier than I was when I owned my 350Z so I'm sure that has a lot to do with why my butt feels bigger in the 370z... Last edited by Rasengan; 01-25-2010 at 10:54 AM. |

I haven't ever driven a 350z, but I am 6'1" and this is the first car where I sometimes have to sit somewhat at an angle (with one butt cheek off of the seat) because my left leg starts to go numb, which I attribute to compression of my sciatic nerve. Not so comfortable.

I had a 06 350, and I would say that the 370 seats are a little more snug. But I'm 6'0, 185 lbs so too me I fit good on both of them.

350z are broken in, vs 370z are new. I am sure they will loosen up over time.

6-2" 230lb. Fit fine. leg, hip, and elbow room is a big factor in me being a Z loyalist. Altogether the 370Z is not as roomy as the 350Z, I fit much better than in other sports cars. For example, i could steer (not by choice) with my knees in the Cayman.
But yes, bolster is tighter on the 370Z, and sitting at somewhat of angle helps on long road trips. A good adjustment of the man-parts prior to descending into the seat is a big help also.

I'm sure a lot of it is that the seats were designed to hold you in a little more snug. Try to sit in the Recaros in the RX-8 R3 same thing there...probably very uncomfy for long trips. |

Having driven my buddy Zpirate's '03 350 and sat in his 370 leather seats, as well as my 370 cloth seats, I'd have to say yeah, they both are much snugger in the bolster area. Almost as snug as my Sparco Milano's......I gotta lose a few pounds one of these days (6', 220lbs).....

I'm 6'2" and 215lbs. the seats fit me like a glove. They are designed for alert driving position only, not relaxing.
For a long drive, I can crank down the the two side adjustments for less aggressive support. The lumbar support is about the best I've ever experienced -- usually I just don't use this feature on other cars. Here, it's very comfortable. For me to completely fit, I must sit in the seat when I first get in the car, then push against the dead pedal to push myself firmly into the seat. The seat conforms to me perfectly and, like I said, fits like a glove. These are truly among the best OEM seats I've ever had. I love them.

Uncomfortable seats.
The seats are uncomfortable. My left thigh hurts. Maybe if I make it less supportive it will be better. The side bolster is to high. i don't think it will get better with time but hopefully. 6ft 190lbs.

5'9" had a 06 350, yes they are more snug, i have cloth though and do find that they fit better, the design was made as mentioned before to hold you snug in position during cornering, just like aftermarket. If you really like the 370 you can swap out the seat to something more comfortable to suit a bigger waist size. Btw I'm a 31 inch waist 155lbs.
