I had a new car smell, but it wasn't nearly as strong as other cars I've purchased in the past. I have a believe that when all the stories were coming out from 2001-2005 about how harmful the chemicals were, the auto makers started doing what they could to reduce these chemicals, thus lowering the concentration of the smell. I have absolutely nothing to base that belief on and you shouldn't believe a word of it.

I still have the new car smell...just not as strong. It has 10,500 miles and I smoke in it..and my dogs drool all over the seats haha
The New Car Smell fragrance tree does smell good, but it's just not the same...just like you should never EVER buy the Leather tree...... smells ridiculously gross!

After the "New Car Smell" goes away I put my 2 Blossom pills from Advanced Auto those last for months and months.

A Hot summer sun with the windows up will cause "new car" smell to rear it's head, even when you don't smell it much anymore. So maybe you will get the new car smell when spring & summer weather makes it back tp PA. Even down here in NC when it's real cold out I don't smell "new car" much. Having bought a few Datsun/Nissan cars over the years, I can tell you this, they never had the new car smell of cars built in Detroit. The new car smell of my 1977 280Z (I swear I can still remeber it) was a mix of new car and sea water smell. My new NISMO dosn't have that strong of an odor but its still a Datsun/Nissan smell.

It's funny because when I sat in my new Z one of the first things I said was, "It even smells like my old 300ZX.." I thought I was nutz

yeah the smell is bad for you, i drove my car with the windows down and left the windows down in the garage. most of the smell was gone in 2 weeks.

My dad's audi... man the smell is over powering, on the way home from the dealer we had to pull over and take a breather before getting back in. The tinting was fresh so we couldn't use the windows...

So anyone know what a good air freshener would be to bring this smell back? My car smells like new but I would like to maintain it some how.

I bought my 11 Z in April of 2011 and the interior still smells like a new car. But that is because it currently has 1054 miles on the odometer.

Lost it at about 4.5k. I think it was due to me keeping the windows open.

2 years and 8,000 miles later and it still smells like it did when I first drove it away from dealer with 20 miles on the odo. People always comment on it when they get in, I credit vacuuming and cleaning the interior after every drive.
