with both spear and Zkindaguy. Your oil has been changed. If it wasn't , it'll be significantly darker. I think we can put this one to rest.

Enjoy driving the Z.

I forgot their service department is closed on Sundays. I'll have to call them during my lunch break tomorrow and stop by after work. I'll keep you guys posted. I'm curious what they'll say. I really hope things go smoothly, and that they don't try to treat my like an idiot...I will be quite furious.

I wish I could agree but 5qts of oil plus some residual(I would be surprised if 1/4 of a bottle could be collected from residual) would not turn 5 qts that dark. But I'm open to any ideas. I'm not concerned about the engine at all, its the principle.

BTW -- It also looks as if they might have overfilled.

IMHO your oil was changed. Used to work in a garage eons ago in high school and probably did several thousand oil changes and that's new oil.

That said, my wife took her A3 to the Audi dealer for oil change. They called back to say her tires were over-inflated and the tires were feathered (they were real noisy). She told them that, while she knows how to put air in tires, they (the dealer) were the only people who ever touched the car...they hemmed and hawed but didn't replace the tires...

Then about a week later her oil light comes on...she pulls into the nearest Valvoline and the pull the dipstick and it's dry. Completely.

Needless to say Audi corporate got a nasty phone call. Dealers generally suck.
