Flickering gas/info gauge??

Has anyone else had this issue? Mine's actually been doing it for a few years, but it's getting worse.
It only does it when it's hot outside and the car's been sitting in the heat for awhile. Never in the cooler months.
I'm thinking maybe the connections are oxidized and just need some cleaner.
I've had the car for almost 12 years and 146,000 miles. Always sits outside.
