Default Anyone else notice the resale of the 370Z recently went up??

I was on Autotrader searching for a 370Z the other day and noticed a huge mark up in their value. Obviously I'm not looking to buy since I have a 50th Anniversary edition but was just curious as to how much the Z's in general were going for. I noticed a few 2020 base or sport models with 5k-15k miles going for up to $39k. And a rare find...a 2020 50th anniversary with 1600 miles going for $48,990. I'm questioning myself if I should sell mine to get more for the money and be able to get the new Z when it comes out without having to dip into savings. Do you guys think they will continue to hold their higher value over the next 6 months to a year or is this just a sudden change because of the hype for the 2022 Z? Just curious. I love my car...I have a Fast Intentions exhaust sitting here in the box but just waiting on the HFC's to come in for installation. This isn't about me and what should I do as it will be my choice, but really just curious if the 370Z is really gonna sit at a higher price point since it was the last model before the new Z. Any input or opinions are welcome

All cars whether new or used are up in price. This is due to the chip shortage that is hurting the auto industry.

Just to give you an idea of the price hikes on cars, my friend bought a 2017 Ford F-250 Lariat new for 70k. A local dealer was willing to give him 76k for it.

I told him he should take their offer. If he did take them up on their offer, he would get all of his money back plus 6k.

And as far as getting the new Z, if you really want it, buy it. But I would say get the hell out of debt and stay that way. Use the money to save for a rainy day or to go see, do, and eat things you haven't seen, done and ate before.

I’m fully there with ya on that! I’m not bad as far as debt goes....looking to build a house next year on a lot I’m about to purchase. I’m a lucky lady, don’t “need” a job but looking for one to collect more savings for my family. I’m very interested in the new Z but still torn if I wanna keep the 50th or get the new Z. Prices now are making me lean towards selling, but I also, as stated, have a $3k exhaust and cat setup about to be installed that I don’t want to go to waste. Times are crazy these days

Well then, if you don't want to part with the 50th, have it sitting next to the 400z in the garage.

That’s exactly what I’m curious of. I don’t work, live 4 minutes from liquor store so I really don’t need to drive LOL I could just sell it and keep the cash for the new Z 🤷🏽*♀️ This is the first time I’ve seen a car having a higher value opposed to as brand new, I’m almost all in. I love and baby the sheit outta my car but I’m really interested in the new Z. I’m so torn with the fact Ive/will be putting $3500ish into my Z so far

Maybe just keep the 370z for now and enjoy it with the mods that will about to be installed on it. Also, let the bugs get worked out on the new Z before getting it.

Only Nissan huh? You're a woman of my own heart lol.

I'm off to bed. I'm installing my HKS exhaust tomorrow. Got to get some rest. Good night.

The Nissan 370Z is a Japanese sport car and is a desired vehicle in the current car market. Most of all the Nissan/Infiniti vehicles have very good resale value. Considering the price point for what you get the Nissan 370Z is actually a very nice vehicle to own. I recently sold my Nissan Maxima to a private owner and got back the right amount of money I put into it and it was a excellent vehicle to own overall. If you have your hopes set on purchasing a Z in 2022 when they finally do come out sell your 370Z to a private owner as soon as you can and get the most value you can out of it and put the funds towards a new 2022 Z. Post up your 370Z for sale in the right places and you will get a good buyer. I sold my Nissan Maxima on www.ebaymotors.com with in two week of posting it for sale. Good luck! Also trading in your 370Z at the right place is another option.

there is a 2020 50th annv. with 30k going for $24k. The prices will drop once the new Z gets released.

They said that about the C7 Corvettes and guess what? Prices never dropped once the C8’s were released. This was the same thing said about the NSX. The exact opposite happened. Prices skyrocketed on the 1st Gen NSX’s after the new NSX was released. No one can predict what the desirability factor will be for 370Z’s but I personally think that it will remain quite high and thus there shouldn’t be any significant price drop after the 400z release. But, that’s just my opinion and you know what they say about those……..
