370Z as my only car? Owners please chime in.
Am thinking of trading in my RSX for a 370Z and am curious how the 370Z is as your only car. Couple of questions:
1) Cargo space. Sometimes I take friends to the airport or go on roadtrips. Any chance the 370Z can fit two suitcases (one large, one medium)? 2) Noise/Vibration/Harshness. Bearable on the highway for an extended period of time? I really love everything about the 370Z, but if it's too impractical, I may need to consider the 135i or a used E46 M3. Thanks. |

I'm going with my dad after work! I sat inside and all so... 1.) Cargo space, I think not unless no one is shotty. 2.) No clue but none of the guys who have it complained about it or said anything about it yet. I really wouldn't get the 370z if it were my Daily Driver. Look into the bmws, very nice cars. If you want room and no noise why not get a Honda Accord!

I wouldn't recommend getting it as your only car. I think the cargo space is fine for two suitcases, and I also think it's a very comfortable car for trips, etc. BUT, there are no back seats, and there are going to be times when you'll need more cargo space. Luckily for me, my wife drives a Murano, so that allows me to not worry so much about cargo space and back seat room. If I were single and could only afford 1 car, I'd probably look at getting an Evo or something that's slightly more practical.

my personal take: if you need to take more then 2 people or a lot of cargo, then take someone elses car or a cab or rent a Zipcar (they have them in DC I think). And roadtrips: The Z was designed for GT (Grand Touring). As in, long distance travel in great speed and great comfort for 2 people.
When I get my Z, it will be my only car, just like my current 300ZX Turbo is. I have not missed the back seats, though I was afraid at first. Im young, Im single, I have a ok amount of money, Im going to have some fun. |

Just remember one thing- The 370Z is a sports car
Don't expect no road noise & lots of luggage space. And if you think the road noise is too much when you test drive then go find a 240Z to test drive and then you will know what road noise is. |

Road noises - I've been in a 350z and I think it's comparable to my friend's RSX-S, but he has Tein coilovers so that may made the car more noisy than stock suspension.
I'm not sure about the 370z, but the cargo on the 350z appeared to be quite smaller than the RSX. |

350 cargo is 6.8 cubic feet, 370 is 6.9!

I was trying to get a 350z when I turned 17. But then I didn't want to bother my parents during the wintertime so I got an accord. A year later I bought myself a G35 [: I think we shouldnt rely on our parents anymore.

Thanks all for the replies and suggestions. Am not too worried about road noise (thanks wj4 for the comparison with your friend's RSX), but the lack of cargo space could be the deal-breaker. The RSX is great for hauling things -- when you fold down the rear seats, the cargo space is huge.
Am still debating whether to keep the RSX around as a beater and get the 370Z, or sell the RSX and get a compromise car like the 135i/E46M3 or Evo X. |

370Z = sport car, nothing else.
I previously owned a 350z as my only means of transportation. Long trips sucked, road noise high, space only for my golf clubs and one gym bag, but I loved hitting 100-120 mpg on the highway. Now I own a chevy avalanche and the 370z. I drive the 370z on weekends only.
