Drunken debauchery fueled nights with slight gay tendencies and trying to run The Tail of The Dragon in the mornings before the cops come out or grandma hits the road. Oh, and JAR.....

It's a get together of Z cars every May. I've gone to 5 of them. Last year because of the Wu Flu. They cancelled it. This year, they moved it to another location. It was at the Fontana Village. Now it's at Blowing Rock which is a tourist trap first class, and the prices show it. At Fontana Village. There is a road called the "Tail of the Dragon". It 11 miles long and has 318 turns in it. There is NO straight section on that road. IT'S the reason we all went there. :driving: Run the road in the morning, and party at night. Most of us here all met at the "Dragon" and became good friends. :tup: Because of the cancellation last year. Madwi and myself both hosted get togethers. Madwi's was the 4th of July weekend, and mine was the Labor Day weekend in Sept. Everyone is pushing me to have another one this year. :eek:

Dragon isn't worth dealing with the large number of law enforcement and other tourists due to its popularity. There's plenty of other roads in the region you can have all to yourself.

It was mentioned to run the road in morning before LEO gets there and party all night. I assume we're talking about drinking etc.? I'm quite sure some are still drunk or hung over and go spirited driving on the Dragon? Ya I'll stay away from that or any other like scenario. :shakes head:

You don't have to go to an overpriced tourist trap to find roads that are not the dragon. Hell, you could do that around Fontana, great roads in every direction and not spend $1500 for 3 nights stuck in mini Gatlinburg:shakes head:

If you guys still do this yourselves this year I'd love to go. I was looking forward to my first Zdayz event this year, but since they've moved and to a more expensive location, I'm moving away from that idea. Would enjoy a get together with other Z owners though.

Madwi's was at his house, and mine was at my house last year. We're still thinking about doing it again.

I'm 90% sure I will hit Zdayz this year. That being said. I know that the Michigan crew and a few others will go to Fontana in September. There's a Z group that holds a small event. I totally blank on the club that sets it up. Basically, we paid the entry fees and took the party over animal style. We pretty much got all the hikers and bikers **** house drunk last time at the bar, you know Zdayz style.

Basically. Zdayz will be different from here on out. I think it's a great opportunity to do something a bit different. However, I'm not done making the Fontana pilgrimage.

75 people now. Not many are signing up.

I will be going and I went to last year's test run. It is definitely a more expensive place to visit so I am sure not as many will attend. There are plenty of great driving roads around but nothing as famous as the Tail.

I think the new resort will force a different feel to the event so it may become more of a family trip event. If not many people show up maybe they will look for another option next year.

This is the main reason I'm not going, price. Not only has it been moved to a new location, the prices are crazy. I can afford it, but I don't want to.

Doesn't help the distance for me has almost doubled now one way (Ohio).

Will see if anyone does a private event or not and decide if I will go to that.

Madwi is planning on one in June in Grand Rapids. I'm planning one for Labor Day south of Pittsburgh.

If the border doesn't open up by then, we may cut down to your house first and get a small convoy going before heading over to Madwi's. 14 hr drive by ourselves twice now sucks after a while.
