I took it to discount tire. And those guys always honk the horn as they are pulling out of the garage (not sure if that's for safety, or just communicating the car is done) but anyway, the guy hit my horn, and like, everyone in there jumped. Dudes dropping their tools and whatnot. Classic.

MyG37 - View Single Post - Blindspot Mirrors?

LaneFX® Interactive Demo - Test Drive the Award-Winning Blind Spot Mirror & Lane Change Technology for Safer Commutes

Adjust the driver side mirror by placing your left ear against the window glass and then adjusting the view so you can "just" see the left side of the car in the mirror. Adjust the passenger side mirror by moving your head to the middle of the car (over the console) and then adjust the same. No, you will not be able to see the sides of the car from the driver's position, but you will be able to see more of the adjacent lanes alongside your car.

You can also adjust mirror(s) while parked. It should not be a problem finding roads with parking along the right side, but for the left side, your best bet is finding a one way road. For either side, preferably, there should be no car parked right behind you.

This gives you a chance to get used to the view(s) in combination with the rear view mirror. For proper mirror positioning without overlap, as soon as the car is no longer in view of the rear view mirror, you should see it in the side view mirror.

Meh, why not? If you do, you'll fit in for the most part. Seems nobody here can afford a decent car anymore anyway. It's turning into a bumper car rally now.

When I was younger, it was fun to drive out to LA for the weekend, but I don't bother anymore. All the things that used to be nice have been ruined by LA's inflated costs, high population, and/or illegal immigration. Sadly, Phoenix is on the same path, just like, 15 years behind.

Not just LA, it's all of California! Especially the immigration problem! Most do not control their children, who eventually "join gangs"!

why not just take a quick glance to the sides before you turn?, this is what i do because no matter what kind of mirror you have, it wont show everything.

The quick glance to the side rear doesn't even take more than 1 sec, and I find that the surest way to turn into the different lane without bumping into someone else...

As a part-time motorcycle rider, I never change lanes without a glance over the shoulder.

Yes, i concur. I also took motorcycle class, and it only improved my road awareness more. The environment awareness helps you regardless whether your riding motorcycle or driving a car

quick glance over the should doesnt even take more than 1 sec and is the surest way....

On the immigration topic, I actually disagree. I won't generalize a group of people like that. I will say that I've seen both sides of the fence. My ex-girlfriend's family was illegal until she was born here. Although they still go back and forth to El Salvador, they don't act out of control. In fact, she and her sister don't act as if the parents EVER didn't have control over them. I have a lot of friends that came from south of the border, and none of them have that problem.

On the other hand, I DO see a lot of the times a family that seems "FOB" come into stores with wild children and they're tearing the place UP! I think it's no different from any family where the parents just don't give a crap about the kids, no matter what race they are.

I love Latinas the most, so I've spent a lot of time with the families. I've dated white girls, black girls, Asian girls, Latin girls of all sorts. Out of all of my experiences, the worst was with the white girls. The parents couldn't care less about what their daughters did. In one instance, I went to this one girls house, and made my decision to run for the hills because I saw how trashy they were and just couldn't believe my eyes. I was raised with dignity and pride. I nearly lost it all just walking into that house!

Has anyone found a use for the rear side windows? During my test drive, it seemed that the passenger's headrest always blocked the window and made it really hard for me to see that corner of the car. The window on my side wasn't any better haha.

i actually thought it was pointless but by adjusting the passenger seat im finding a use for it. the blind spot is not as bad as i thought it would be. :icon17:

On the side mirrors where is the best place to place them? Inner or the outer side of the mirror?

The fish-eye mirrors were so good that eventually I stopped using the rest of the side mirrors and just used the fish-eyes. Good stuff, and I'll never go back.
