Default Two Fast Cars In Garage

Excuse this post if it sounds like I have lost my mind. It might be in overdrive the past few days. I have been thinking of downsizing the number of cars (5) in my herd but each time I drive one I love it and don't want to sell it.

The two fast cars ..

2016 Nissan 370z with a little less than 15,000 miles and a 6-speed manual
2016 Chevy Camaro SS trim 2SS, 455hp, automatic

Both are bright red so the cops have no problem finding me and both are in mint condition. I keep having these bad thoughts that all I need is one fast car, one 4x4 vehicle ... but it's hard to downsize. Another issue is since I am the only driver of all these vehicles, the monthly mileage isn't much for each one. Is that a bad thing? I don't see keeping any vehicle that is driven less than 50-75 miles per month but some that have have barely reach those monthly miles.

Anyone else been in this predicament and if so, what did you do?

Sounds like you both have the same problem. Not enough garage.

I know a guy down south if you need one built

What are the other cars? Maybe you should get rid of one of them...

If you do ever feel the urge to get rid of the VWs, bring 'em over to the West Coast. They have cult status here and go for way too much money.

BTW, I don't think you have "too many" cars. Seems reasonable.
Heck, I'd even argue you should find room for a full-size truck, they are incredibly useful. My neighbor had an FJ, loved it, but always needed to use a trailer with it to get any chores around the property done.

Where I live at. If you have 2 vehicles. One has to be a 4x4 truck. I got 2, 4x4's.

I drove over to Temecula CA to buy the 59 single cab and drive it back to Sierra Vista AZ, southeast of Tucson. You are right, they go for way too much money. I did have a few Tacomas this past year but always found the bed to be too small, so I'd use the VW single cab truck.

Ive been thinking about a full size truck that is older. I should have never gotten ride of my 1994 Chevy V8 fullsize bed years ago. Didn't drive that much either but when I needed a real truck, I had it. Thanks for the suggestion.

bhounds,

No one can tell you how to spend your money or run your life ... but ... here's my similar situation.

Three years ago there were 2 daily drivers, one dually, and 3 antique cars in our stable. Money wasn't an issue, nor was the insurance or upkeep. Then I hit the 70 years old mark, and reality of the situation hit home, and it made no sense.

All three antique cars (55 Thunderbird, 54 MG TF Roadster, 90 300ZX) found new homes, and then I bought the 370z Roadster.

Now we're down to 4 vehicles, and I can see us losing the dually in 4 or 5 years when its too difficult to haul the RV, and then one of the daily drivers may go about the same time.

But they'll have to pry the stick shift of the Z from my dead hand when I go to that big safety deposit box in the sky.

LOL ... I've said the same thing with some past cars I've had. Yes, similar and I am 68 so maybe that is why the brain cells are overactive on this stuff. Logically I just need my 4x4 and a fast car ... the thing is I like both of the fast cars. So time will tell I guess. Thanks for your reply, it was just what I was looking for, a similar situation.

I was going to buy a black new 1984 Rabbit GTI, and changed my mind at the last minute for the Scirocco. I've also numerous Miatas ... 1993 Limited Edition, black with red leather interior only 1500 of them made. It's good to see I am not crazy.
