Two Fast Cars In Garage
Excuse this post if it sounds like I have lost my mind. It might be in overdrive the past few days. I have been thinking of downsizing the number of cars (5) in my herd but each time I drive one I love it and don't want to sell it.
The two fast cars .. 2016 Nissan 370z with a little less than 15,000 miles and a 6-speed manual 2016 Chevy Camaro SS trim 2SS, 455hp, automatic Both are bright red so the cops have no problem finding me and both are in mint condition. I keep having these bad thoughts that all I need is one fast car, one 4x4 vehicle ... but it's hard to downsize. Another issue is since I am the only driver of all these vehicles, the monthly mileage isn't much for each one. Is that a bad thing? I don't see keeping any vehicle that is driven less than 50-75 miles per month but some that have have barely reach those monthly miles. Anyone else been in this predicament and if so, what did you do? |

What are the other cars? Maybe you should get rid of one of them...

bhounds,
No one can tell you how to spend your money or run your life ... but ... here's my similar situation. Three years ago there were 2 daily drivers, one dually, and 3 antique cars in our stable. Money wasn't an issue, nor was the insurance or upkeep. Then I hit the 70 years old mark, and reality of the situation hit home, and it made no sense. All three antique cars (55 Thunderbird, 54 MG TF Roadster, 90 300ZX) found new homes, and then I bought the 370z Roadster. Now we're down to 4 vehicles, and I can see us losing the dually in 4 or 5 years when its too difficult to haul the RV, and then one of the daily drivers may go about the same time. But they'll have to pry the stick shift of the Z from my dead hand when I go to that big safety deposit box in the sky. |

I'm doing fine now as each car does its thing way better than the other. Even when I eventually install an intake and downpipe in my WRX, making it faster than my Z in a straight line, the dynamics are still totally different.
I already know what I'd replace the WRX with for a daily if I need to, but the Z is something i don't think I can just get rid of unless it is broken beyond repair or if someone offered me a decent amount for it. |

Two fast cars are easy. I got three: '11 370Z, '8 C6 Z06, and '96 C4 LT4; all are black and have 6sp manual transmission. The C4 has nearly 400 whp and is naturally-aspirated. To fix the predicament, I'm on the hunt for a black '3 C5 Z06 to start a collection of Z06s. I would like to own a manual, black one from each generation except the '63 because, simply, I can't afford that.

I was going to buy a black new 1984 Rabbit GTI, and changed my mind at the last minute for the Scirocco. I've also numerous Miatas ... 1993 Limited Edition, black with red leather interior only 1500 of them made. It's good to see I am not crazy.

That's a good idea, I have not been told that before. I had a 2016 Challengers 6.4 Scat Pac last summer but felt much more out of control (driver) than the Camaro. Yet it was fast. Right now I can't think of anything I would want to add to the 'fast' part of the garage.
