To wait, or not

I've been dying to get back into a Z, but like everyone else, I've been waiting for the Z35. I found a clean local 2011 sport package with 3 piece aftermarket wheels, AAM competition exhaust and a set of coil overs new in box. The car has a out 33,xxx miles on it and the price point isn't bad at 19,000. For the life of me, I cant decide whether I should jump on this or wait. Any feedback?

Jcasti07, with out seeing the car can't help you out too much. I would wait and take your time. When you come across THE CAR, you will know it. Just take your time.

Uploaded a couple of shots. Honestly when I saw the car I was very impressed. I think the only thing holding me back is that what if sensation with the new Z expected to show on 9/15. At the same time, I know bargains like this dont pop up all the time. Not close to me anyway.

it is really depend on your budget... the nicely equipped new Z35 will probably be around $50k and don't expect any discount off the MSRP.

I would wait if you have that budget for the new one... However, there aren't that many 370z sold and finding a nice one will get a bit harder.

dont value those wheels as real 3 piece. They're cheap knock off varrstoens that cost less than $1k brand new

Agreed... I wish the Rays Sports could be had in a wider version... They still look a million x better than most aftermarkets, but I like simple so...

Obviously we don't know the price of the Z35 yet, but IMO it will most likely will be around $40K and dealers probably will mark the price up as well.

The question is if you wait for the Z35 can you afford the car payment?

The 370z has been made for 10 years you will be able to find one, but you might have to travel for a good price.

The 370z has had a literal 11/12 year worth of production. You will find one no matter what. May not be the price you want, but waiting gives you more power in choice.

IF you want a manual car, get it now. Supposedly the new car will be auto only. Who knows.

I banked on the Z35 being a disappointment and bought a 2018 Z34. I'll have minimum 2-3 years of enjoyment, and if the Z35 turns out to be a banger then I can just turbo mine once it's out of warranty and blow Z35s into the weeds.

Life's too short to wait for vapourware.

also the other point the Z34 is an analog car, which is doesn't have a lot of electronic stuff. which may be something to look at. I like my z34 and enjoy it. but in the end it is up to you and what you want to do.. What ever you decide will be good.

So have fun enjoying the process of getting to where you want to go... Done that several times on cars I have bought.... just make it fun....

I decided to wait. You guys are right, being patient will allow me more options, and the turn of the next Z will surely have a lot of people trading in great 370's. Thanks for the input

I bought my Z this year. When deciding on it, I considered waiting to see what the new Z35 might be like, or buying now and enjoying the existing car. Ultimately I decided the existing car provided everything I needed, I love the styling and the old-school analogue feeling of the car, and I suspected the Z35 would be both delayed and go upmarket in price. I am also reticent to buy the first year or two of a new model, before all the bugs are worked out.

But everyone is in a different position. If you don't need to buy right now, and if you are happy to wait and think you can afford the Z35 when it comes out, it might make more sense for you to wait.
