Car Pulls to the left!
 
Hey guys when going 100+ or just higher speeds in general LOL I step on the brakes and the car pulls to the left. Feels squirrely. The steering wheel doesn't shake or anything so I don't foresee the rotors being warped. The calipers are the Akebonos. What other things should I check beside inner tie rod? Do you think the front left caliper is toast? Can it be rebuilt/repaired? What else could it be?

The calipers can be rebuilt. I do it all the time.

At what speed does the car start to pull left?

Does the car pull left when you stomp on the pedal? Sometimes when you press easy on the pedal. The car will pull to the side that the caliper is working. Say the right caliper is sticking. The car will pull left. You stomp on the pedal. The car goes left, then straight. That tell me that the right caliper is just sticking a little. If if doesn't straighten up. Then the right caliper is really stuck.

With the wider front tires. You will sometimes get tramming in the front. Where the tire will follow a line in the road. If the car is tramming at the time you hit the brakes. It will cause the car to pull.

Since you describe it as "squirrely" and not "OMG I Just Shat My Pants", that indicates to me that your caliper (or any other part of the system) is not toast. It may need to be rebuilt, but it's not toast.

Warped rotors seldom occur, so I have to agree with you.

First thing I'd do is flush the system. Check for kinks and other bad spots in the lines. If that didn't fix the problem, I'd take it to a pro.

First thing I would do is throw it on the front end machine and check the toe.

If something is worn - like a tie rod, it will show up right away.

Also at high speed, the front end is in a different position than when going 40mph, so the toe needs to be checked throughout the full travel of the front suspension.

For what ever reason, my car needs alignment adjustments pretty often.

If you are on a rutted road you can get some funky handling when depressing the brakes at high speed. First order of business is to have the alignment check. If you are running different tires on the front than what is on the back. This will also cause some funky handling issues just like this.

Maybe your wheels need to be balanced also.

If car pulls to one side when applying brakes then one front is not stopping as much as the other. So sticking caliper, glazed rotor or pads on one side, air on one side. I would take the front brakes apart and do a very precise inspection and go from there. If it's only at high speeds maybe stay under 100 LOL!!

turned out to be bad front tires.
