HP Gain Estimate

I apologize as I am sure this has been asked a thousand times.

Last year I purchased a 2019 Lexus RCF (10th Anniversary Edition). Now the Z is my project fun car.

I have added:

SS Catback exhaust - claims = 17hp
Ordered - Takeda Cold Air Intake (long tube)- claims = 15hp
Ordered - AAM High Flow Cats - claims = 9hp

Best estimate - what HP gains would I get pre and post tune. I understand that each individual gain is not added as a total sum and many products are exaggerated with respect to hp gains. I appreciate any feedback.

My guess? 20hp total?

Maybe half that since most of these aftermarket claims are BS.

From what people explained to me when I first started with bolt on upgrades, the gain decreases as you put in more an more parts because the system is getting more efficient. Plus, although the car adjusts itself, the best way to take advantage of the new parts is to get a tune.

My 2012 Sport made 319/309 rwhp on two different types of dynos. This is with a Stillen Gen 3 intakes, high flow cats, new cat back exhaust, and an UpRev tune.

Correct, you will probably get 20 addition HP at the high-end. After you do the bolt-ons, the real HP gains are through a tune.

A friend of mine did cat-back and CAI on 370Z with no tune. I was beating him in 1/4 mile pulls with a modded NA '06 350Z with a tune. Don't expect much without a tune.

Tune will provide best results only if you add more then one breather mod.

If you are installing an intake and an exhaust you already need a tune to justify the claimed #'s, but ether way a tune is a must in this car. I suggest an oil cooler and a down-pipe with that, then clutch, then 4.08FD swap aaaannnnnndd down the rabbit hole we go lol.

Are you even Premium??!?? :icon08:

A proper tune is worth it for the improvement in throttle response alone :driving:

Personal experience. I did an Ecutek tune when my only mod was intakes. Would have been worth it even before the intake install :twocents:
