Evo-R Rant

So I want to start off by saying I am pretty patient when ordering parts and supplies, especially for my car. I like everything to be as perfect as possible. I do want to have a little rant though.

I ordered five items through the zstore (who have been very helpful and polite) for Evo-R items. I placed this order over two months ago and have yet to receive any part of it. I called today to find out my order is behind and will now take around another month, give or take, assuming it even comes with the next shipment. I was told there is a possibility this may not happen.

If I'd known it was going to take this long, I could've done it myself or had a friend do it. I'm actually frustrated at the shipments being delayed and my parts not coming in at all.

I feel like I should've heeded warnings about them being super slow and gone elsewhere.

End rant, I suppose

justin_boy 06-08-2020 05:02 PM

weird.... I know tons of people have problems with him but Ive ordered a painted high wing and also a rear blinking fog light and everything was shipped fast and nice. maybe when youre not ordering through him it takes longer?

also ill always email jay and he will tell me how long it takes for everything, and hes usually spot on

sportsman2003 06-08-2020 07:55 PM

Thanks for the info. I was about to place an order at the Zstore. I will call and check stock first.

Ventruck 06-08-2020 08:17 PM

ZStore is supposedly the safest way to go (as in, you can check before buying and they'll give you a straight answer), but add the whole COVID thing in the mix, and I imagine there's a wrench in an already-troublesome line.

Doesn't really make up for all the bad episodes I've heard with EVO-R, but in this particular scenario there's probably more things to consider out of his control.

EZT 06-08-2020 08:24 PM

I’ve had great experiences with Evo-R directly, and I’ve had success with the Zstore too. I’ve also experienced out of stock issues with both too, due to him being behind. My biggest issue is that the Zstore and Evo-r last I checked will still display the products for sale.

I wish there was an alternative to evo-r

The on-going EVO-R saga

It keeps on going...this EVO-R stuff.

I go back ,way back in my dealings with EVO-R and Jay.
If I may offer some insight.
First, quite awhile back,I order a "MINES" lip for my Z33.
Bought direct from EVO-R. As is the practice,It did not arrive as planned.
I called, messages, more delays. After several e-mails etc with Jay and
some digging,I found out Evo-R's system. Their stuff is made at a large
facility in Taiwan. The factory makes stuff for all kinds of companies.
You have to book space on the production line for your order. Evo-R
orders say,20 units...When they are gone /sold they are gone till the next
run. However,he keeps on selling making the buyer think the itemC
Yes,it is best IMO to order through the Z-Store. However,do not do
the transaction online. Call it in.Talk with a rep. Ask him to check if it is
in stock, not just in their system but run out to the warehouse to physically
check. If it isout of stock,do not believe what they tell you on arrival.
They have no control. It is the same as if you and I contact Jay.he'll
tell you anything.
The positive I have found,and it is a bit of a paradox,most EVO-R stuff
is pretty damn good.Ordered a Blitz style rear spoiler with a carbon under trim,
painted for my Z33.it was perfect in color match and fit.
Bottom line on EVO-R,awful customer service, maybe some language issues
and now,the Taiwan-China ship headache.
Only good carbon supplier I know is U.S. based ZCF Covers. But,they only
make smaller items like B-pillar covere, interior pieces etc.

Apologies for the long post.
But,hey--it is the old "buyer beware",right?

Look, this is not really the place to come to for sympathy for getting ****ed over by Evo-R. There are probably hundreds of threads about Jay and how much he sucks as a businessman and a human ****ing being. Getting scammed by Jay Shieh is the cost of not doing your homework. We would feel bad if you were the first. You're not the first. You're probably not the hundredth. You could have avoided this. Now go get your refund and listen to reviews in the future.

JARblue 06-09-2020 07:43 AM

:iagree:

I bought an EVO-R product to try and save money once. It was a piece of shìt. I sold it to a forum member at a 40% loss. He fixed it with "a bunch of super glue, automotive epoxy, a hammer, and calling EVO-R sh*tbags". Horrible construction, overpriced, terrible customer service. Why people go with EVO-R, I'll never understand. I certainly learned my lesson the hard way. I tried to save money and ended up losing it.

Spartan 1771 06-09-2020 12:03 PM

I've had good and bad experiences with them. At this point I'm done with them and wouldn't recommend them to anyone. If you order from them, you take your chances.

Didn't really post for sympathy lol, more as a rant and understanding first hand how slow and unresponsive they are to orders.

Spartan 1771 06-09-2020 04:44 PM

I hear ya. Sometime you just need to vent to people who understand.

Nothing new. Be patient. Keep emailing him. Parts will come.

Whoa whoa whoa. Don't give EW any more ammo. I fixed it. Nothing a bunch of super glue, automotive epoxy, a hammer, and calling EVO-R sh*tbags didn't fix. Followed by the incentive of just buying craftsquares and saying screw it.

Tractionless 06-10-2020 07:38 PM

Wow took me less time to get built to order CF from Carbon Signal in Dubai!!!

Seen so much about this with ER, not sure why anyone rolls the dice anymore. I'd at least call the part provider whether ER or 3rd party and ask the anticipated shipping date BEFORE paying for anything. If it doesn't suffice, there's many more options.

NismoZ34_4Me 06-16-2020 09:55 AM

I bought Evo-R parts through the Z-store and their Ebay page and just waited and waited....for about 6-7 weeks. Tracking was sent but better communication is a must. I knew buying these pieces can potentially take a long time to deliver. I wouldn't order something from them if I needed it sooner. Just my experience with them.

Bhamncheese 08-10-2020 04:10 PM

Still waiting on my partial carbon high wing spoiler and front bumper carbon piece since late June. I had a good experience with the Zstore though, carbon fangs came in less than a week.

Spartan 1771 08-10-2020 05:05 PM

The Z Store has always been excellent to deal with.

OptionZero 08-10-2020 06:04 PM

whats the problem?

member here named quicksilver personally guarantees all EVO R products

just PM him if you have a problem and he'll cut you a check

easy peasy

Evo-R is the best

sportsman2003 08-24-2020 02:04 PM

I have only bought Evo-R parts from the Z store and have had good luck.
I just call and check stock first. I am luck in the sense that the Z store is in SoCal and I receive my orders in like two days.

I have been wanting to buy the Carbon top High wing for my Z and also the Evo-R side blades. The Z store has been out of stock for months and have no idea when they will receive a shipment. I reached out to Jay at Evo-R via email, Instagram and FB and no reply. You would think a business owner would want to collect a $1000.00 but nothing!

I understand from what I read here this is standard practice but felt like posting that things haven't changed it seems.

If anyone knows of anther reliable vendor let me know if not I will just wait for the Z store to get stock.

OptionZero 08-24-2020 04:27 PM

buy a real nismo wing, which is better in every way, including . . . being able to be purchased

check your FS, ebay, and car-part.com

Thanks for the info. I will keep the quest alive for a OEM V1 Nismo wing.

I placed an order for an evo-r carbon high wing Aug 10 and it arrived (I'm in Canada) in two weeks. I just placed an order for a 3 piece front lip on Aug 23 and not even a tracking number yet. And no replies to emails. Seems kinda hit or miss. I'll give another week to reply then I'm logging a case with PayPal

Don't Wait a Week. Stay on this and email, call and text Jay until you get an answer.

Yea I'm emailing basically every other day since last wed. I don't have a phone# to call direct though. Contact page on the site is now "blank". I only have the email to contact from my order confirmation page.

I'll give a week before I go the next step of filing a ticket with Paypal.

Just start the process. PayPal is going to give seller time to respond once you file the complaint. Waiting a week before contacting PayPal is just going to waste time, given the seller is Evo-R.....

buis370 09-02-2020 04:01 PM

What a shame.. some of their parts are unique and pretty good quality imo. I ordered CF door handle covers from the Z store and remember shipment was delayed for 6 weeks. Just made the mistake of ordering the 4th brake/fog light from them last week.

It's been 7 days, and I haven't even gotten a an order # or any sort of confirmation. I called theZstore and was told they are "experiencing delays at the moment" but can't even get an estimate for when the part will come in.

Such a shame... this is the last time I will be ordering from them. Seems the bad experiences far outnumber the good ones when it comes to Evo-R

I've filed the complaint with Paypal today. Indicated I would prefer to get the item only concerned as the seller is non-responsive. Will keep you all updated as I learn more.

When will they ever learn?

cooltoy 09-03-2020 06:52 PM

If you do not have patience to wait for Jay to ship (I once waited for 8 month to get a damaged part replaced), then always order EVO-R parts from thezstore.com. At least they will let you know if they are in stock.
