Evo-R Rant
So I want to start off by saying I am pretty patient when ordering parts and supplies, especially for my car. I like everything to be as perfect as possible. I do want to have a little rant though.
I ordered five items through the zstore (who have been very helpful and polite) for Evo-R items. I placed this order over two months ago and have yet to receive any part of it. I called today to find out my order is behind and will now take around another month, give or take, assuming it even comes with the next shipment. I was told there is a possibility this may not happen. If I'd known it was going to take this long, I could've done it myself or had a friend do it. I'm actually frustrated at the shipments being delayed and my parts not coming in at all. I feel like I should've heeded warnings about them being super slow and gone elsewhere. End rant, I suppose |
weird.... I know tons of people have problems with him but Ive ordered a painted high wing and also a rear blinking fog light and everything was shipped fast and nice. maybe when youre not ordering through him it takes longer?
also ill always email jay and he will tell me how long it takes for everything, and hes usually spot on |
Thanks for the info. I was about to place an order at the Zstore. I will call and check stock first.

ZStore is supposedly the safest way to go (as in, you can check before buying and they'll give you a straight answer), but add the whole COVID thing in the mix, and I imagine there's a wrench in an already-troublesome line.
Doesn't really make up for all the bad episodes I've heard with EVO-R, but in this particular scenario there's probably more things to consider out of his control. |
I’ve had great experiences with Evo-R directly, and I’ve had success with the Zstore too. I’ve also experienced out of stock issues with both too, due to him being behind. My biggest issue is that the Zstore and Evo-r last I checked will still display the products for sale.

I wish there was an alternative to evo-r

The on-going EVO-R saga
It keeps on going...this EVO-R stuff.
I go back ,way back in my dealings with EVO-R and Jay. If I may offer some insight. First, quite awhile back,I order a "MINES" lip for my Z33. Bought direct from EVO-R. As is the practice,It did not arrive as planned. I called, messages, more delays. After several e-mails etc with Jay and some digging,I found out Evo-R's system. Their stuff is made at a large facility in Taiwan. The factory makes stuff for all kinds of companies. You have to book space on the production line for your order. Evo-R orders say,20 units...When they are gone /sold they are gone till the next run. However,he keeps on selling making the buyer think the itemC Yes,it is best IMO to order through the Z-Store. However,do not do the transaction online. Call it in.Talk with a rep. Ask him to check if it is in stock, not just in their system but run out to the warehouse to physically check. If it isout of stock,do not believe what they tell you on arrival. They have no control. It is the same as if you and I contact Jay.he'll tell you anything. The positive I have found, and it is a bit of a paradox, most EVO-R stuff is pretty damn good.Ordered a Blitz style rear spoiler with a carbon under trim, painted for my Z33.it was perfect in color match and fit. Bottom line on EVO-R,awful customer service, maybe some language issues and now,the Taiwan-China ship headache. Only good carbon supplier I know is U.S. based ZCF Covers. But,they only make smaller items like B-pillar covere, interior pieces etc. Apologies for the long post. But,hey--it is the old "buyer beware",right? |
Look, this is not really the place to come to for sympathy for getting ****ed over by Evo-R. There are probably hundreds of threads about Jay and how much he sucks as a businessman and a human ****ing being. Getting scammed by Jay Shieh is the cost of not doing your homework. We would feel bad if you were the first. You're not the first. You're probably not the hundredth. You could have avoided this. Now go get your refund and listen to reviews in the future.

:iagree:
I bought an EVO-R product to try and save money once. It was a piece of shìt. I sold it to a forum member at a 40% loss. He fixed it with "a bunch of super glue, automotive epoxy, a hammer, and calling EVO-R sh*tbags". Horrible construction, overpriced, terrible customer service. Why people go with EVO-R, I'll never understand. I certainly learned my lesson the hard way. I tried to save money and ended up losing it. |
I've had good and bad experiences with them. At this point I'm done with them and wouldn't recommend them to anyone. If you order from them, you take your chances.
