I had a BMW MZ3 about 10 years ago. The car was awesome and the discussion board was even more enthusiastic than this one. They griped about the paint on that car, too. They also thought of the class action idea, but it never went anywhere. I've heard the same talk about the three cars I've owned since. It never materializes.

Get a clear bra.

I hear the OP on this one to a degree, I'm kind of the same way. As much as you know it's eventually going to happen, it's always tough to accept those scratches, scrapes, and nicks that you get along the way.

you guys make it sound like you don't care about scratches and stuff but suppose you are buying a used 370z, i am pretty sure all of you would care and would pay less for one that is not perfect

No one said they don't care, quite the opposite. I think most people just accept that it's part of life.

Only if I can clearbra the whole car and it look good.

I have a couple of trapezoids of clearbra on my Frontier, and they stand out like no tomorrow when the truck gets a little dirty, and my truck is Night Armor color (dark gray)

My Z is black...it's stand out more.

i don't do this anymore. it's better to get a ding or scratch than to get your dashboard ripped out.
I parked my white 370Z way off from the restaraunt all by its self. And someone decided to lay a huge green hocker on the hood.

My white Shelby GT was parked way out by its lonesome self and some azzhole with his tar truck decided to empty out his tar hoses all over the vehicle. Some of it even got through the passenger window seal and hit the uphostring. That took me over 8 hours to get off with a neighbor's help using 3 cans of a a paint preparation surface cleaner spray.

Thanks for the insight guys. I really love this car, it's just so frustrating sometimes though, lol.

After my purchase and unaware of the problems Nissan leaves there customers deal with in the past had I known before hand I wouldn't have even looked at this new Z.
If someone stole it tomorrow or it was totaled in an accident I would be tickled to death because I would be rid of it!Overall it is apain in the a$$!
I'am not OCD but just like to take care of my car.I drive it all the time!Should I have to pay $700 to have a clear bra on it?Hell no!Every other car I had including corvettes never was the paint as bad as this junk!
I do enjoy the car and very satisfied mechanically and with handling but disappointed Nissan put out a paint job that is very poor quality.
It is just a car and they come and they go so it was just a lesson for me about nissan!Never again!
I suspect you may be exagerating a bit regarding the paint quality!

I'am not exagerating one bit!Its not the road chips so much because that is to be expected. All though the paint is junk so that causes it to chip so much easier.
Its when the bird sh!t drops on the car!It eats through the clear coat and not just the top coat either. Its eats through deep.Don't know how much clear coat Nissan put on this car so to wet sand will be touchy!Shouldn't have to do this and have had many cars over the years and NEVER had paint as bad as this!
Many coats of wax don't help either!
My car is black as all my cars have been and this is the worst I have ever seen!

Oh come on!!! Do you really expect someone to accept responsibility for their actions in this day and age? Nissan should have installed curb feelers and an auto parallel parking system as standard equipment for the Z.
