If you use a lower octane then what Nissan wants you to use. You will not be making all the power that the motor can produce. With a lower octane. The ecu will retard timing to prevent knock. Resulting in lower power output.

OP, if you can get some hand sanitizer, this will not only kill the bacteria inside your engine, but has probably the highest octane rating. But good luck finding any hand sanitizer in light of the coronavirus.

I run 91 in all of my vehicles, I honestly find I get better mileage, making it worth the extra couple bucks a tank.
