I'm mostly looking for a Sport in manual. '16 or newer in blue or that very dark red color. My gripe with the model having the bells and whistles is that I suppose the head unit pares to a cell phone, and that feature drives me nuts in my truck. My wife's phone is always getting texts or calls... interrupting a song during a drive. Plus I don't feel like listening to her conversations through the speakers. Looks like the Sport or base will save me from that nonsense.

i have a 2009......bluetooth for music wasnt a thing in the Z then so i have no issues there :shakes head: but phone functions work.

i would personally go with at least sport for the brake upgrade alone.

whats your budget? i typically keep an eye on Z's at the auctions. could keep an eye out for something in line with what you're looking for.

The Sport has Bluetooth, so that’s out for you. I believe the base doesn’t.

Base Touring has everything except big brakes & wang :ugh2:

lol there's a pretty simple solution for your problem - don't let your wife's phone pair to the BT

Just my 2 cents, I had good luck shopping for used cars on CarGurus. That's how I found my WRX. It was super easy to sort by mileage and filter out the trim levels, so at least i feel like i got a good deal.

For the bluetooth, your best bet is to install an aftermarket radio. I have a Kenwood DDX9905S with the dash cam setup. Even with base speakers, the audio is ridiculously good. Apple Car play and Android Auto (wireless) is included. So you could save some cash if you went with a 2013 or newer and have the radio installed.

Thanks guys. Okay, obviously I'm not a technophile... so thanks for pointing out that blue-tooth is responsible for phone pairing, not the in-dash screen. I guess I won't steer away from a Touring. I just don't value leather, heated seats, the in-dash screen, heated rearview mirrors... seems like more gadgets to fail later so I'm not too enthused to pay extra for them, but won't steer clear of it since i have to live with blue-tooth anyway. Yes, I've also been searching cargurus, autotrader, etc.
