That's exactly how I take it, old buddy! My sense of humor is like the Pacific Ocean, wide and deep! I joined this forum to have a nice time with you, the younger generation who, usually, have a lot more automotive savvy than this old man! Keep making me laugh and filling me in on motor oil issues, what to do and what not to do with my Z, etc. Greetings!

You obviously know absolutely zilch about guns. 1911s are always carried cocked and locked as they're SAO. Hammer down is actually more dangerous with a 1911 when there's a round in the chamber as an accidental impact can cause the hammer to impact the firing pin.

In all fairness, the sight of a pistol cocked and locked does tend to be a little shocking to those who are unfamiliar with guns in general or 1911s in particular. Personally, I've always felt a little more nervous around DAO triggered guns that have no manual safety. Glocks in particular always made me nervous as their trigger pulls are lighter than a true DAO pistol. But to each his own.

A few things:
1. This thread is not about guns. 2. This thread is super old and was revived for the purpose of an off-topic remark/discussion. 3. I don't even drive a Z anymore, I now drive a 2011 STi. That's how old this thread is. 4. I'm locking the thread.
