Default How reliable is Nissan 350z & 370z ??

I'm really serious in buying one soon (after I sell my old car) but I heard a lot about Nissan, especially the Z line not being reliable, meaning sh!t happen a lot and need to go to the shops ... I'm just a regular driver, no racing, maybe once in a while. For those that owned a 350z and now a 370z, please give your opinions !!! thanks a lot

One of the most recognizable car lines in the past 40 years is the "Z". Reliable would be one of first words used to describe this car, not only the 370, but earlier models as well.

I had an 03 350z before I upgraded to the 370. I've never had any issues, whatsoever. They're both great cars and very reliable from my experience. Love them both!

I had a '03 350Z, had the tire feathering issue. Made some supsension mods and that fixed that. Also, had a power window went out. My 370Z has 800 miles and no problems so far.

There's a chance of problems with every car. But I've really good luck wiht Nissans (including not one probelm with our 2007 Murrano)

Every car will have some issues. However Nissan and the Zs have been very reliable over the years.

^^^^^^^^^^^^ damn, papozalsa

i like the pic.....

papozalsa, does it mean anything...

for the reliability, i too agree that every car will have issues......

if you are talking about comparative issues vs mustang, RX8, eclipse, etc.... i think Z is one of the most reliable cars..........apart from supra... *^^*

as a rule of thumb, your question is not very valid in this forum, for most of us are Z fanatics..... *^^*

do go ahead and buy Z.......you will LOVE it....

If you are planning on daily driving your car, with possibly some light modifications, the 350Z/370Z are extremely reliable. From a mechanical and drivetrain standpoint they are almost trouble free. Again, this assumes you are a typical daily driver. I would have no hesitations about picking one up at all.

The 350Z in 03-04 had a few issues, such as tire feathering, and occasionally bad window motors. In 2006, Nissan had a group of Rev-Up engines that consumed a lot of oil. Almost all of those were replaced under warranty. The 07-08 model line was VERY reliable with no issues, and so far the 370Z has been very reliable as well.

My oil changes at Nissan are $90. Something to do with diamond-like-chips in it or something along them lines.

Confusing wording....

How can ANYTHING in 2010 be rated for best resale value? Wouldn't then need to wait till most of the year has gone by and actually SEE what the resale values turn out to be?

And, what does "INITIAL QUALITY" mean? Would, it still get that kind of award if, say, hundreds and hundreds of owners stated, "Yeah, well, initially I was pleased with the quality but after 6 months, the darn thing started falling apart."

I guess I just get tired of awards with ambiguous wording and questionable data to support such a statement as resale values for a car that just started appearing on the streets about a month ago...

Initial quality is something we look for funny enough because we've all seen cars that are absolute crap, even when its fresh off the lot. i would be highly pissed if i drove off the lot and i already start hearing rattles and random noises. so if anything, its an award for "at least you won't feel like a doofus driving it......yet."
