Farewell
It has been a pleasure riding with you all for over 9 years but I've recently sold my beloved Z and have moved on to the next chapter. Although I didn't post much, I've been consistently on the forum reading and gaining plethora of knowledge from amazing members.
I sold my Z because daily driving a stick shift coupe in LA for over 9 years was getting a bit too much. I also got married recently and my wife cannot drive the Z. We will be expecting our first kid in the next year or two so 2 seater must go. Therefore I bought myself the new Mazda 3 Hatchback in AWD. Sure it's not nearly as fast as the Z but wow....it's a great freaking car! I will eventually buy a weekend sports car in the near future but for now I am comfortable where I'm at. Thank you all for making my ownership of my Z memorable. I hope this forum continues to stay active and strong. Drive safe and have fun! Many thanks, Jae |

I went down that same path in 2008. I had three Miatas in the garage when my wife got pregnant with our first. They slowly disappeared over 9 month period. We bought a '08 Mazda 3 hatchback new from the dealer, and the last Miata was sold to make room for my '04 TL. It wasn't until last winter when I put my foot down and demanded another roadster and traded my '12 TSX in for the Nissan. Life comes at you full circle. You'll be able to have your toys again sooner than you think! Best wishes.

Sorry to hear you sold your Z. Congratulations and you will be greatly missed Jae. I hope you get the opportunity to get a sports car again in the future. Don’t forget Nissan will be coming out with the 400Z “Z35” in the near future it is something to seriously consider.

Good luck on your future endeavors.
In all honesty, there comes a point where driving a stick as a daily isn't a skill issue, or even a "toughness" issue, but bottom line not worth living out all the time. Actually, my last trip in LA seemed to be a WAY better driving experience than the Bay Area, but I imagine you've come across more than enough situations that screw with gear selection in a given instant. If it's not manufacturers phasing out manuals, it's big city traffic/driving making it unbearable. The people that can't drive ruin it for everyone. |

Congratulations on the kid. In life we must often give something up in order to make way for what else intends to come into our lives.
I hope you enjoyed the Z while you had it and I hope it goes to a great home. Whether you have a Z or not, you'll always be welcomed here.

Great choice! That Mazda 3 Hatchback in AWD is RAD. Take care!
