What?!?!

SigPapa226 01-13-2010 07:38 AM

You should have a metal flap that flips up, and underneath a screw on cap where the nozzle goes.

New vehicle, still under warranty? Stealership time!

Quick Nick 01-13-2010 08:11 AM

yup, sounds like you have had a shocker...cant imagine it would be sat inside your fuel tank though.

The gas filler door is plastic - under that is the screw on cap but I think what the OP is refering to is the metal door that folds away when you insert the nozzle in the fuel neck. Yes that should be there and it is possible its fallen into the neck of the filler tube - get it checked!

You guys really need to lose "THE SKY IS FALLING" mentality here. There IS NO FLAP inside the filler neck.

Man am I going crazy? I swear it was there 1 re-fuel before...

Well if you don't have one... that makes me feel a bit better. We all might have it sitting at the bottom of the tank =(

What's the flap for anyway?

Oh man. For a second there I thought I was going to have to add this to the list of reasons I just can't drive my car alongside the 400 degree oil temps.

PapoZalsa 01-13-2010 10:07 PM

Zhit, I have not filled my tank since I bought the car. It has been a garage Queen with this freaking Winter.

Maybe I fill up the tank this weekend that is going to be kind of warm.

OK so apparently I've been inhaling gas fumes and halucinating the metal flap. Went and looked at the car and of course there isn't anything there - sigh.....
