Spoiler is worthless, pure style. It is not the Akebono design, but the pads themselves, they are not track pads. I would not track the base brakes with stop pads either. Drop the money in pads/fluids and you will have very little issue. All the upgrades for the sport package will outperform the base counter-part.

I previously owned a 350Z touring and I am now looking at the 370Z's. I personally like the looks of the sport package over the Base or Touring but I would like to know if there is any difference in ride quality between the 2. I know the is a difference in tire size but is there a diference in the aspect ratio of the rubber? The thinner the size rubber the rougher the ride.

Best bet is to find a dealer with both options and test drive them back to back.

Having the synchro did it for me. The nicer rims and better brakes were a bonus. it's made driving in stop and go traffic a bit more comfortable. The car isn't jerking when I need to down shift like it would without the rev match system. Call me a bad driver but I think letting a computer handle that aspect of it will be more accurate than a human could ever be. I'm surprised this type of system hasn't popped up on other vehicles.

You may be right. I test drove a 370Z touring when they first came out last year and I did notice an improvement in the rideand interior quality over my 350Z.

After driving this car quite a few times, I can say this much... if I had to choose between the sport or touring package. Id forget about the touring in a heartbeat. This sport package is awesome.

Better brakes.
Better traction, due to LSD. Wider tires. Lower CD, due to spoiler. Synro rev match on downshift if MT (I believe this is always a feaure of the AT) Definitely better!

Yes, but only for street use. Better pads and rotors will help, but the Akebono's are not serious performers compared to what else is available.
Same as above. Very aggressive driving or track use kills the viscous diff as it can't handle the heat, which has been true for most other cars with this type as well. Another diff option would be better. Important only if set on keeping the OE wheels. Otherwise, upgraded wheels/tires could be purchased in a different width. Pressure recovery (reducing rear lift)? Yes. But lower CD? Doubtful. Even if yes, then not by very much. Quote:
It depends on the perspective of the buyer. For some, yes. For me, no. I'd rather bargain down the strippy model and pour the saved cash into upgrades that have more to offer. I do respect other viewpoints on this as there is no one answer for all. Chris |

Just wondering how many members really go to the track. And how many miles do you put in at the track and how many miles in regular driving??
So IMHO it came down to better looking 19in wheels, bigger and better brakes in everyday traffic, front and rear spoilers, lsd oh and bigger tires. close your eyes and you can tell no difference in the ride quality. Oh and at resale that 3000.00 upgrade will come in handy. Not to mention it looks better. Ok i'm off my soap box. |

To each his own, but I feel the sport package is well worth having. No hassles looking for your own better after market brakes and wheels alone may be worth the price of admission.

My reasons?
1) SRM-which was the most and main for me, i know how to but as a human i dont think i can ever do better then computer 2) rear spoiler-in my view i totaly did not liked base model 3) wheels-if you dont like it you can sell it for $1000 4) brakes-this is not the best but since i am not such a track guy its just big and good enough for my little bit of joy 5) LSD-i have heard these lsds are not that great on track, gets over heated and being nothing diffrent than open diff, well atleast better than nothing $3000, why not?
