Finally!!!

It has been over 30 years since I had my last Z, a 280ZX Turbo. I brought my new 2020 Z home last night. Pearl White and a MT. Traded in a C Class that my wife hated. The Z rides just as well and she likes it better. Unfortunately, she also has a better view of the speedometer.

Awesome and congrats! I’m betting you wish you had also held on the that ZX Turbo.

Congrats on the ride!

And what hurricane? Dorian? It’s not gonna hit Tampa, and at most, we’ll get a few showers at best.

dave11,

Congratulations on the new ride!!!! Welcome to the forum!

Like you, I've had my share of Z cars, a 1971 240z, an 1984 300ZX, a 1990 300Z (owned that one 27 years) and my present 2016 370Z Roadster.

There just aren't many other cars that come close to giving you the same feelings as a Z car, or that my 6' 3" frame fit in.

PW MT FTW! Congrats.

Quicksilvers 09-03-2019 12:43 AM

Welcome to the 370Z forums. Congratulations on your 2020 Z post up some pics if you can. I don’t blame you for trading in your Mercedes Benz C class I would have did the same.

dave11 09-03-2019 11:00 AM

I am working on the pics. I've never done this before. It is going to be like teaching an old dog new tricks.

And yes, I know "this thread is worthless without pics".

Because of Dorian, the insurance agent won't cover the car until after the threat of loss has passed. She said maybe Thursday or Friday.

Then I’d switch companies. They’re worried about a hurricane that won’t even so much as touch the east coast of Florida, while we’re on the west coast?

Just another of 1000 reasons I hate insurance companies.

Looking at all these posts about insurance companies and that is crazy !!! Wont insure your new 2020 Z until the storm has past ? Insurance companies only care about their bottom line. They will be paying out lots of money even though this storm was not devastating to Florida. Many years ago I used to be loyal to insurance companies. Now I shop auto and home insurance every year for the best rate. Enjoy your 2020 Z and welcome to the forum.

And the car is already on your property? I'd switch insurance companies immediately! They can't deny additional coverage because of the threat of a hurricane. I mean I guess they can, but there is legal precedence that they would lose a suit in court. I would take this as evidence of their customer service; who knows what kind of crap they'll pull if you ever have to file a claim :eekdance:

My thoughts exactly.

Also, OP, not sure if you outright bought your car or financed, but if you financed your car, most lenders, if not all, require full coverage at all times until paid off. In the event of non-coverage, the lenders could deem you as being in default and could demand payment of full balance at once.

I agree. Your insurance company could put you in a serious bind if the lender decides to take action.

Congratulation for your new Z...you will for sure love it...
hopefully as much as i do love mine.

dave11 09-08-2019 10:27 AM

The insurance really wasn't a big deal. I was adding it as a third vehicle.

I was about 18 years old and someone in the village I lived in (UK) bought a red Datsun 240Z. Took me 45 years but I got there in the end with my 370Z.

nis350 09-08-2019 05:15 PM

Congrat...

Always like the Z for some reasons. My PW 370z is my third. Also had an 280zx long ago. came close getting the 300zx a few times, but never happened. Couldn't decide between the Mark IV Supra.
