2009 Nissan 370Z: Ten Things I Like About You
Quote:
1. SyncroRev Match 2. Gear indicator. 3. Interior orange accent lighting 4. Beautifully tuned , just right suspension. 5. Padded armrest. 6. Headlights. 7. Dash Gauge cluster. 8. Sport Brakes. etc... What's some of yours? |
Ten things I like about the z:
1. Powerful and loud engine 2. Very nice and upscale interior for a car at that price and performance point 3. 6 spd manual w/ synchro rev 4. Sport package wheels and tires 5. Smaller and lighter than the previous generation model (when was the last time a car actually got smaller during a re-design?) 6. Excellent performance bang for the buck (even cheaper than the 350z when they were new!) 7. Gear indicator 8. Pricing in Canada comparable to US! (thank you nissan for not gouging us just because we are north of the border) 9. Sleek sexy look, with yellow colour is always an attention getter any place and anytime 10. Excellent handling, braking, and grip Ten things I don't like about the Z: 1. No oil cooler  2. Crappy restrictive exhaust system. REALLY important to get aftermarket exhaust 3. Not much interior room to store anything. The glovebox and the center dash box on non-nav models are almost useless. 4. The fuel and water temp gauge are ridiculous and also difficult to read when sunlight falls on them. Why not plain old analog needles? 5. No oil pressure or tire pressure gauge. 6. Many BCM functions not readily accessible on non-nav models. Why do I have to order nav just so I can adjust headlight delay? 7. Many minor and insignificant irritations that nevertheless shouldn't be on a new car: clicking rear axles (lubricated under warranty), stuck rear hatch (fixed with 2 penny trick), squeak in rear hatch area (not fixed yet), squeak in driver seat (not fixed yet), last LED on fuel gauge not coming on even with full tank (not fixed yet). 8. DRL on Canadian models is ridiculous. Why should the headlights and taillights be on ALL the time, even on a bright August noon? 9. See 9. above. Sometimes its just too hard to be inconspicous, to the point I wish i was in a camry instead. lol! 10. Doors that seem to hold a HUGE amount of water in them after rain or after a carwash. |

ten things i like about the z:
1. it's mine :P 2. nice engine/exhaust sound 3. sexy look and curves (exterior) 4. red stitching (interior) 5. handles well 6. gear indicator 7. headlights (excellent lightning at night) 8. can be used as daily driver 9. the little storage space behind the seats (i can't live without it) 10. . . . |
1. The Engine feels and sounds like an engine.
2. Imo, it has the best interior in its class 3. ...and I love the seats. 4. One of the best looking cars on the road. 5. Handling is money. 6. Speaking of money, what you get for it is huge. Not just performance, but the whole package. 7. Throttle is perfect for me. If I am just cruising it doesn't feel like I'm dying, but if I want power I FEEL power. 8. The aftermarket community is very hands-on and part of the actual community, actually seems interested in input. 9. 7AT is incredibly responsive for something that isn't a fancy dual-clutch. 10. The noise in general. Not just the engine noise like I mentioned in #1, but everything else. Road noise is a reason for many to not buy a car or to complain, but for me it was an added bonus. I'm a young guy and enjoy hearing my car and the road, it adds a very "machine" feel to the experience. |
yeah i drove my car for a day or so with no music recently. you forget how good it sounds downshifting and slowing down and especially under acceleration. i often think about what it sounds like outside the car but then i think about the fact that i would have to be outside the car to find out. that's not gonna happen.

no particular order...
1. MT - im just happy that they offered MT. SRM is definitely a plus. :p 2. Engine sounds very nice and torque. Exhaust note is just right. 3. Handling. the supension is tuned very well for street. love the RE050's! 4. Great looks. no stupid wheel gaps. 5. Cockpit feels very good (less side mirrors...they are too big and blocks my view). 6. Interior looks real nice and feels sporty. (less boombox cluster look...) 7. No rear seats! :D 8. Headlight illumination is very good. 9. I like the sport wheels. they look great and easy to clean. 10. Brakes work great and they dont dust much. |
Likes- in no particular order (double spaced for easy reading, everything crammed is too eye straining):
1. Push button start- key never leaves pocket! 2. Push button exterior locks - key never leaves pocket! 3. Styling- every detail, from the head/tail lights to the body curves! 4. Seating position- feels like a cockpit rather than a driver seat! 5. Sport package- the wheels and brakes complete the look of the car IMO! 6. Dual intakes- how cool is that! 7. Its fast and responds VERY well to throttle inputs. 8. Handling is top notch. 9. Sound- very exotic, yet mellow. 10. SRM- enough said! Dislikes- 1. Paint quality- WAY to soft, blemishes far to easily. 2. Sound- to quiet, way to quiet, any music and the engine note disappears. 3. Another cubby behind the driver would be nice. 4. Blind spots- easily fixed, but still annoying. 5. Holds a $hit ton of water after a car wash. 6. I can't think of anymore...............! |
I like that since I bought my Z, I have not seen another one :happydance:

2010 Roadster:
1. Top lines, both folded and up -- clean and elegant. Looks like a $65K+ car 2. Power -- even maintaining break-in, I can press passengers into their seats and flirt with the other side of 100. 3. Sport wheels -- I have never seen an OEM set this cool. 4. Climate controlled seats -- very effective design with mesh centers and leather surrounds. Both heat and AC are aided by a multi-speed fan. 5. Smart Key -- better range/more recognizable to the car than my Mazda's 6. Interior storage/trunk -- surprisingly usable compared to competitors (Boxster/Cayman still wins this, though) 7. Bose Audio -- I have never liked a Bose system until this one. I believe the interior dimensions of the Roadster complement this system. 8. Getting revvs from $100K Porsches (this also could fall on my lists of hates) 9. Wide availability of great aftermarket options -- I will make that exhaust note even sweeter 10. Intelligent enthusiast community here. This reminds me of the Z3 community, where the focus is truly on the car and those who love it. Such enthusiasm with very little judgment or bashing "outsiders" is rare and commendable. |
